With WrestleMania 42 in the rear window it’s time for a serious dose of Backlash as the Superstars of WWE look to usher in a new season of WWE.
With their careers intertwined since day dot Asuka and IYO SKY look to settle their differences once and for all as former friends turned foes clash inside the squared circle. When the dust settles will there be anything left to give and where do they go from here? It’s time to weigh in with out Backlash 2026 PPV Predictions!
Elle: Whilst I’m still really excited for tonight’s match, I can’t help but feel like the release of Kairi has really sucked the wind out of what could have been something generational. I think for this match and this feud to mean something more, this can’t be the end tonight and we really need to see these two go toe to toe for a little longer to further explore the former mentor angle. I personally wouldn’t mind having a stipulation brought in that should Asuka win IYO has to do her bidding before a big blowout at something like SummerSlam.
I imagine that this unfortunately will be the end of the angle and the only way to have this end is to have the hero come out on top, Regardless the one thing I do know for certain is that we’re in for a match to remember! Prediction: IYO SKY
Adam (TheInsanityInc): Obviously, this long-running storyline has been massively hurt with the release of Kairi Sane who had been a key component of the teacher-student angle of the feud. That makes a match that should have been on WrestleMania all the more painful that it was delayed for so long. That all aside, we’re still dealing with two of the very best workers in the entire WWE here who will no doubt put on a match that steals the show. I can’t see any other outcome here apart from Sky winning to settle the story for as fitting of an end that can managed, all things considered. Prediction: Iyo Sky
