As 2020 comes to a close the men and Women of WWE are gearing up to close out the year with one of their most extreme PPV’s WWE TLC.
Over on the RAW brand Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler look to continue their dominant run as the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Asuka looking to get revenge for her newest tag team partner Lana. Elsewhere Carmella looks to end 2020 with a championship win as she goes toe to toe with SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, whom she has caused nothing but trouble for ever since returning to the blue brand.
Will 2021 see New Champions ring in the New Year or will our current champions continue to shine in a year full of nothing but craziness? It’s time to weigh in with our WWE TLC PPV Predictions:
Smackdown Women’s Championship: Sasha Banks Vs Carmella
Elle: I can’t help but feel a little conflicted when it comes to tonight’s title match. Time and time again WWE have torn the title from Sasha when she’s barely begun her title reign and I still don’t trust them to do the right thing by Sasha even with her recent star power surrounding the Mandalorian. Does that mean Carmella should come in so soon and swoop up the title from Banks? If I had it my way I would happily see Sasha pick up the win with Carmella resorting to even more aggressive tactics to capture the title later down the line. Regardless I’m intrigued to see what this new version of Carmella looks like on the PPV stage and I hope we get an even better idea of how this ‘Divalicious’ alter ego actually pans out. Adam(TheInsanityInc): I’ve really been enjoying this fresh feud between these two. Carmella’s new Diva-like character has been fantastic and their back and forths have been great. So it’s a tough one because on one hand Banks deserves a lengthy singles title run but a Carmella title reign could be interesting with Royal Rumble on the horizon. It’s a close call and really could go either way. So I’m going to take a shot at perhaps the upset, and maybe as a result of some under-handed tactics, of Carmella stealing the gold. Prediction: Carmella
Women’s Tag Team Championships: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler Vs Asuka & ‘TBA’
Elle: Well if this feud wasn’t random enough to begin with we now have the main feature of the actual feud side-lined for a mystery superstar to now come in and save the day…or do we? A big part of me wouldn’t be surprised to see Lana on the PPV neckbrace and all with Asuka leading the way for the majority of the match against the dominant force of Baszler and Jax. Do I think Team Asuka will win? Probably not but purely due to the fact that I can’t see WWE putting another title on Asuka when they have barely done anything with the one she already has. Lana is undoubtedly deserving of a tag team championship run after the months of torture from Baszler and Jax but Asuka doesn’t seem the right fit in this instance. Prediction: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler
Adam: Oh boy, what a total mess this storyline has been with Lana involved. The WWE seemingly cutting their losses with the failure of making Lana appear likeable and writing her out days before the PPV. Granted, I think the result will still be the same regardless of whether Lana had been the partner or whoever this new one will be. So the question will be do they pair Asuka with Mandy Rose or Dana Brooke to lay groundwork for the Sexy Muscle Friends getting their fair title shot? Or do we get a new partner that perhaps could turn on Asuka and be her next title challenger? We’ll wait and see. But as I said, I think the result would be the same no matter Asuka’s partner – the champs retaining. Prediction: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler
