Clash at the Castle is here and if anyone knows how to put on an epic battle, it’s the Scots! Scotland’s very own Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn and Piper Niven look to put their homeland on the map as they compete for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships and the WWE Women’s Championship.
Since losing their NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre have been looking to bounce back and what better place to do it than clash at the castle as they face off against the teams of Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler and the Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.
Elsewhere Piper Niven looks to prove she’s not to be underestimated as she takes on rival Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship.
In a night stacked with some of the best female Scottish superstars in the business will Scotland’s very own leave with Championship Gold? It’s time to weigh in with our Clash at the Castle PPV Predictions:
Elle: As a huge fan of hometown hero Niven It’s great to see Piper taken seriously for what feels like the real first time in WWE, sure Piper has held gold already most recently with BFF Chelsea, but now we’re in the big leagues where Piper belongs. Had Bayley not only just won the gold only at WrestleMania I would have thought a win would be a shoe in for Piper but unfortunately it’s not time for Bayley to drop the belt just yet. Regardless I’m sure Piper will make a name for herself and hopefully nobody underestimates her again. Prediction: Bayley
Adam: It’s great to see Niven able to get the chance in front of her homeland fans (a theme of this PLE) in a big match, and even outside of this match Niven always delivers in her contests against anyone. So I have no doubt that this will be a great match, but I don’t think that Niven will get the fairytale ending with how much of a big money match it will be for Bayley to defend against Nia Jax at SummerSlam. Prediction: Bayley
Elle: I’m really enjoying the better focus on the Women’s Tag Team division in recent months with the women’s tag team division looking strong on both SmackDown and RAW. In my opinion it feels like Bianca Belair has been rejuvenated since Jade arrived on the blue brand so why ruin a great thing even if part of me would love to see the Unholy Union pick up the gold on the home turf. With momentum getting stronger in the Women’s Tag Team division I only hope it continues and we see all the Women’s tag teams get more opportunities going forward. Prediction: Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair.
Adam: A Triple Threat Match is not only a lot more interesting than just, what would have been great anyway, Baszler and Stark against Belair and Cargill. It gives the chance to crown new Champions without the very protected Belair and Cargill being involved in the direct decision. Not just for that reason, but for the fact that I think the other Scottish Superstars may lose their title matches tonight, there needs to be at least one match for homeland heroes to be victorious in and I think this is that match. Prediction: Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn
