Yesterday WWE and 2K unveiled the official cover star for this year’s game as well as some information for new and returning match types, updates to existing modes and so much more. Not only that we have a first look at 14 female superstars, so today we’re going to go over as much as we can so join me as we discuss.
Last night we went over the official covers for this year’s game as well as how much each edition costs so check that out if you want to see which version best suits you.
Before we break down the official press release let’s start with the most important thing, the female superstars. Following the cover reveal, 2K and various press outlets released a bunch of screenshots for this year’s game with 14 female superstars amongst those released.

First up we’re going to start with Becky Lynch as from all of the screenshots released Becky is the only superstar you don’t really get a great look at. From the screenshots we can see Becky is sporting her WrestleMania 41 return attire from her tag team championship match where she teamed with Lyra.
Thanks to several teases and the confirmation of the CM Punk showcase It looks as though we will also get at least one more Becky Lynch model for this year’s game, thanks to the Wrestlepalooza mixed tag team match with Seth Rollins, Punk and AJ Lee. Had the WrestleMania version of Becky been her only model in-game I don’t think I would have been as fond as Becky always wears her hair tied up these days so it wouldn’t feel like it represents what we see on TV.
In the same screenshot we can also see the current Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley and IYO.

2K have also released other screenshots of both IYO and Rhea, and from the additional Screenshot of Rhea we can see Rhea is sporting her Evolution 2 attire where she faced off against IYO. It doesn’t look like there is a huge leap between Rhea’s WWE 2K25 model and her WWE 2K26 model but it probably doesn’t help with the angle of the screenshot. Regardless Rhea’s model still looks badass and I can’t wait to see more of her model ingame to get a better look.

We then have an additional look at IYO SKY in WWE 2K26, who looks to be sporting her SummerSlam 2025 attire where she faced off against Rhea Ripley and Naomi. I really love how IYO looks this year and I especially love IYO’s jacket and can’t wait to play around with it and customise it in the creation suite.

Going back to the original screenshot we then have Alexa Bliss who looks to be sporting her SmackDown July 4th attire as part of the Evolution Qualifier matches with Charlotte Flair. From what I can see I really like Alexa’s model this year and she looks a lot more polished compared to her WWE 2K25 model especially. If Alexa has Lilly as part of her entrance in this year’s game I really hope we have the updated Lilly that Alexa brought as part of her return.

Following on from Alexa we have Liv Morgan’s WWE 2K26 model which looks to be based on a Monday Night RAW version of Liv Morgan with her WrestleMania 41 attire. I’m praying that I’m wrong with this one but it looks as though Liv might have the same entrance as last year, judging by how Liv is poised on the ropes. There isn’t a huge leap from Liv’s model last year but I would still argue that Liv looks great here and players could easily bring Liv even more up to date with their own attires in the creation suite post launch.
Following on from Liv we have a screenshot of Nia Jax and Jade Cargill. From the shot we can see Nia is sporting her Saturday Night’s Main Event attire from January last year where she faced off against Rhea Ripley.

Jade Cargill’s model looks to be based on around the same sort of time as Nia’s with Jade sporting an attire originally from Backlash 2024 with her updated Tag Team Championship run look.
Following on from Jade we have a look at Ivy Nile in this year’s game with Ivy competing in an Underground match against Lola Vice. Judging by the screenshot it looks as though Ivy is sporting her February 14th attire from her No.1 Contenders Match for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Dakota Kai. I personally really like Ivy’s model here. Would it have been nice to get a long haired Ivy?, sure but I still think she looks really good here.

Speaking of a change of hairstyle we then get a look at Ivy’s underground opponent Lola Vice. Lola Vice looks to be sporting her NXT No Mercy attire from 2025 and looks even better than her WWE 2K25 model with a new take on the superstar. I will say I would love to get an underground persona of Lola in this year’s game as Lola completely changes her look whenever she competes in underground matches.

Next up we have the current Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer who is sporting an attire she has previously worn at both NXT Stand & Deliver as well as Evolution 2. Like her model last year, Stephanie looks immaculate in WWE 2K26.

Following Stephanie we have WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Does Trish’s model look drastically different no? Does she have a super awesome attire hell frickin yeah does she. For years we had the same version of Trish over and over again so I love that in recent years Trish has had a series of different attires with this attire especially being one of the best Trish attires for me personally of all time. I personally really like Trish’s model so I can’t wait to kick some ass with Trish when WWE 2K26 drops, hopefully recreating some Trish 2026 attires and matches? I can only hope.

Next up we have two of my favourites, Asuka and Kairi Sane of the Kabuki Warriors. From the screenshot we can see Asuka is sporting her June 16th 2025 RAW return match attire, with Kairi sporting a SmackDown attire from March 21st of the same year. As big Kabuki Warrior fans I think both women look great here, especially Asuka with her crazy over the top facepaint. I will say I really hope we get a casual Asuka persona in this year’s game to counteract what we see on TV.

We do have a look at two other badass female superstars, Chyna and Lita but these are the same versions we have in WWE 2K25 so I’m not really going to go over these. From the press release we already know that we are getting at least one alternate version of Chyna and possibly an attitude era version of Lita so I would be happy to have these alongside those.

Last and certainly OMG by no means least we have a look at the former Women’s World Champion Naomi. Naomi for me hands down looks the best out of actually any superstar that has been shown in WWE 2K26 so far. It may sound a tad dramatic but I actually think Naomi looks incredible here as she sports her SmackDown attire from March 21st. From the screenshot we can see not only does Naomi have a completely new look thanks to her heel turn but also new trons and a new entrance. Seeing Naomi here really makes me excited to see first time models for new superstars such as Blake Monroe and even returning stars like AJ Lee. Really have to give 2K credit here for this awesome Naomi model.
Moving away from the screenshots, following the Cover Reveal yesterday it was announced that CM Punk is the focus of this year’s WWE 2K Showcase, with this year’s showcase being titled Punked. The mode will be narrated by Punk himself, with players being tasked to play through iconic matches from Punk’s career as well as dream matches for the best in the world. 2K have yet to release the full match list for the mode but thanks to the teasers earlier in the week we already know of a few.

2K boasts that WWE 2K26 has the ‘Best in the World’ roster with 400 plus superstars in this year’s game. Like in previous titles, this year’s roster is made up of Superstars from RAW, SmackDown and NXT as well as Legends and WWE Hall of Famers. Amongst the superstars named in the release were Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Stephanie Vaquer, Liv Morgan, Charlotte Flair and Blake Monroe who makes her WWE 2K26 debut.

On top of the roster it was confirmed that there are four additional match types in this year’s game including the return of I Quit, Inferno and Three Stages of Hell matches as well as a series first, Dumpster matches. Adding to the extreme elements it was officially confirmed that Shopping carts and thumbtacks will join WWE 2K26 along with larger interactive environments, offering players a new way to punish their opponents.
It was also revealed that Intergender matches will once again carry through to this year’s game with all core game modes allowing intergender action.
2K also revealed that WWE 2K26 will see a revamp of the reversal and Stamina system as well as upgraded physics. This year’s game will also see the addition of interactive entrances, with Booker T and Wade Barrett joining the commentary team alongside Michael Cole.

Moving onto this year’s creation suite, this year’s Create A Superstar will now offer 200 CAS save slots as well as an upgraded 2,000 image capacity. This is something fans have been begging for for years, so to see this finally addressed goes a long way with the community, allowing for more creations than ever. 2K also announced that this year’s create a superstar will provide deeper face and body morphing tools alongside two-tone hair colour blending. I’m really excited to see these features especially in-game and even more excited to see what our talented community create over the coming months once the game releases.
2K then revealed some news regarding this year’s MyGM with players now having access to new intergender matches, 5,6 and 8-man matches as well as support for more matches than in previous iterations.

When it comes to this year’s MyRise, this year’s mode will allow players to play the hero or villain with two new division-based storylines with decisions impacting playthroughts like never before. This year’s MyRise will also allow players to continue playing even after completion with more unlockable content and achievements to earn.
Moving onto Universe Mode, it was revealed that this year’s mode will include the WWE Draft as well as a brand new Universe creation wizard. 2K have yet to officially reveal what the wizard method entails exactly, but I imagine in the coming weeks fans will get a broader picture to prepare you before release. Joining the new Universe additions are upgrades to Money in the Bank cash-ins, available promo types, Watch Show Mode and more.

Switching to the Island it was revealed that this year’s mode will be more social and bigger than ever and for the first time ever, available on PC. In this year’s mode, players will choose between one of three factions as they attempt to gain control. In addition this year’s idea of the Island will have a revamped progression system, a brand new scrapyard brawl arena (which looks frickin awesome), fresh towers, new shows and branded Gear. Players will also see an expanded version of the MySuperstar builder, with face-photo importing available for the first time, allowing even more customisation. In a huge update to the mode, it was revealed that there are upgraded quests, superstar voiceovers, cutscenes and dialogue screens which will really help and enhance the immersive experience. In last week’s video this was something I desperately wanted to see for the mode, so to see it revealed here has me excited to see how things play out.

Moving on to MyFaction, this year’s version of the mode will allow for intergender lineups and quick swap matches. As I said last week I quite enjoyed playing MyFaction in WWE 2K25 so seeing that it now includes intergender matches in WWE 2K26 is a huge leap and allows players to play with any superstar they want, instead of being limited by gender. When it came to spending tokens I usually would stick to female superstars first so this plays right into my gamestyle. Like in previous years, players compete to earn new card designs with this year’s game adding Faction Chemistry and run-in support.
It was also revealed that WWE 2K26 on Nintendo Switch will allow for additional features, including the ability to use touchscreen and mouse support for controls within modes such as the creation suite for face and body painting. This year’s release on Switch will also support the image uploader and cross-platform community creations.
I don’t know about you but there is so much information that I feel slightly overwhelmed by it all and what’s even better is that we have barely scratched the surface. Not to mention there is a gameplay trailer, set to be released later today at the Royal Rumble, I don’t know about you but I can’t get enough.
So whilst I go prepare for the Royal Rumble and the WWE 2K26 gameplay trailer be sure to stay tuned so you don’t miss any of our upcoming content.
Until Next Time, I’ve been the Revelleution.
