Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION!
The Saturday Night’s Main Event special has come and gone, which saw on the Raw side Becky Lynch lose to Sol Ruca by DQ when Lynch pullled the referee into taking (admittedly a botched) Sol Snatcher. On the same show, it was announced that the two would have a rematch with the Intercontinental Championship on the line at Clash in Paris. Last, but not least, Brie Bella and Paige retained the tag team titles over The Irrestable Forces, and Jade Cargill scored the pin over Rhea Ripley ahead of their Clash battle for the WWE Women’s Championship. So what’s next for the women of Raw, especially with a tag match between Bayley and Lyra Valkyria against The Judgement Day scheduled for this week? Let’s get into it, and find out…
This week’s ‘Arrived Earlier Today’ videos featured The Judgement Day with LIV MORGAN, ROXANNE PEREZ and RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ.
Tag Team Match
BAYLEY & LYRA VALKYRIA defeated The Judgement Day (RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ & ROXANNE PEREZ) w/h LIV MORGAN & Dominik Mysterio
While a replay of the finish and post-match brawl of last week’s Tag Team Title Match was finishing, The Judgement Day jumped their opponents before the bell as Perez clubbed away at Bayley and Rodriguez stomped Valkyria. The Faces rallied when the Heels spent too long gloating, as Valkyria tackled Perez to hit punches and Bayley used a Lou Thesz Press with punches on Rodriguez. Bayley and Rodriguez rolled out of the ring, and the ref called for the bell to start the match with Perez and Valkyria legal, and Valkyria hit a Body Slam.
Perez was whipped to the Faces’ corner, allowing Bayley to tag as she whipped Valkyria in to hit Perez with a Forearm Strike in the corner, before Bayley charged with her Back Elbow. Another tag led to a two count for Valkyria after a kick to the gut. Perez hit a slap to stun Valkyria and Perez staggered back to her corner, allowing Rodriguez to tag herself in. Valkyria applied a Back Sleeper, which brought Rodriguez back enough for Bayley to tag in, rocking Rodriguez with punches then Shoulder Thrusts in the Faces’ corner. Valkyria tagged and hit Thrusts and stomps before Bayley tagged for a few Forearm shots just to tag out again. Rodriguez would muscle through a Double-team Clothesline attempt and used a Crossbody to take down both opponents.
Rodriguez worked over Valkyria with an Arm Wringer, then a corner Splash followed by the Diesel Elbows. Valkyria managed to vault over a corner charge and hit a Dropkick, but her charge was countered for a form of Snake Eyes. In an awkward spot, Rodriguez appeared to distract the ref but Perez wasn’t able to reach in with Valkyria too far away from the ropes and swatted Perez away when she finally reached closer. So Rodriguez just charged from one corner to shove Valkyria into the opposite one, hitting stomps then a choke. This time Rodriguez distracted and Perez hit an Arm Snap Stomp across the ropes to Valkyria. Rodriguez hit her Vader Bomb Elbow as the show went to a ‘commercial break’, presumably getting just a near fall as the match continued after the fade back from black.
After being roughed up a little, Valkyria took a corner Splash from Rodriguez in the Heels’ corner, allowing Perez to tag in and be whipped in to hit a Running European Uppercut. Perez, rather than doing the usual tilt-a-whirl, instead turned a wring of the arm into hitting the Side Russian Legsweep, floating over into a cover for a near fall. Perez hit an Arm Snap and kept control of the arm when Valkyria tried to fight out, using a hair pull to drop her and applying a grounded Arm Bar. Rodriguez got a tag and hit a Delayed Suplex for a two count then a Bear Hug, but Valkyria soon escaped that with a somewhat messy Wheelbarrow into a Bulldog.
As the show returned to ‘live action’ Valkyria had just sent Perez out of the ring, and that allowed Perez to yank Bayley off the apron to prevent a tag. Rodriguez would get sent out by a Low Bridge trick, but she just hauled Valkyria to the outside. They botched a Lawn Dart spot, with Valkyria slipping forward instead of sliding down the back and Rodriguez had to stumble forward to hit the ring post. Valkyria kicked Perez away, sending her into the announce table before finally making the hot tag.
Bayley hit a Suicide Dive to Rodriguez followed by punches before sending her in to take the Elbow Drop across the back for a near fall. Bayley tried for the Sunset Flip Bomb into a corner but Rodriguez’s strength blocked it, leading to a Clothesline. Perez tagged herself in, but her attempt at PopRox was shoved off before Bayley hit a Back Suplex, and Perez would take the Sunset Flip into the Faces corner, leading to a Valkyria tag. A nice Double-team of a Samoan Drop by Bayley with a Valkyria Flipping Neckbreaker hit but Perez was rolled to the ropes too close. Liv Morgan put Perez’s leg on the ropes, but the referee saw her in the act and ejected Morgan from ringside, which the announcers noted was the second week in a row this had happened. Bayley hauled Morgan from the apron anyway and hit a Forearm to deck her, and got wiped out by a Rodriguez Clothesline on the floor before Rodriguez got hit by a Flying Forearm from Valkyria off the apron.
Perez tried to steal it with a 120% Roll-up but Valkyria kicked out, then caught Perez running in with an Enzigiri. Morgan yelled instructions to Dominik Mysterio who followed the orders and stayed ringside. Distracting the ref so that Rodriguez could shove Bayley off the ropes, allowing Perez to hit PopRox and Bayley had to kick out at two when Valkyria was late to break up the pin. Valkyria would counter a Running Powerbomb by Rodriguez, using a Headscissors to pull them both over the ropes and out, but Valkyria came up clutching her knee when she hit the apron.
Mysterio got on the apron again, but along with distracting the ref he tossed in his AAA Mega Championship to the ring for Perez to try and use. Bayley also grabbed the title and off the tug-of-war, Perez was sent across and inadvertantly struck Mysterio with the belt to knock him off. Bayley used a ROLL UP OF DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! and got the victory. After the match, Bayley gloated, tossing the title down at Mysterio and raised Valkyria’s arm in victory while Perez was glaring and furious in the ring, soon joined by the rest of The Judgement Day.
It was announced that the 2026 King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments would kick off next week with the winner earning a ‘Championship Opportunity’ but it wasn’t stated at what event they’d get it.
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were interviewed by Byron Saxton, with Bayley recounting ups and downs but claiming she and Valkyria were the best tag team in the division, with or without the titles. Valkyria put over her partner and said an odd line about ‘even if it doesn’t make sense’ they were going to keep fighting. When Saxton changed the topic to the Queen of the Ring Tournament, but the interview was cut off just as Valkyria was talking about how she almost won it once and Bayley had never been in one before.
CATHY KELLEY interviewed BECKY LYNCH, and Kelley claimed Ruca was ‘injured’. Lynch bragged that Ruca was in over her head after being punched in the mouth, mocking Ruca about her flips and not getting any clean victories.
For the first deliberate time in the long-running background story, there was an interaction backstage as Austin Theroy walked past MAXXINE DUPRI who seemed smitten by the look from Theory, even with her Alpha Academy guys with her. When Otis remarked that it smelled like bad news, Dupri was quickly dismissive of that and told her boys she’d see them later, further leaving the Academy concerned about her reaction.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
The Tag Team Match was a fine bout, as only expected, and perhaps Perez’s reaction to the loss will continue to sow seeds of a breakup of The Judgement Day since it’s been two weeks in a row where failed interference has cost a match. Liv Morgan’s title reign has become completely empty with a lack of challenger. In the time that Stephanie Vaquer’s been out injured, another contender could have easily been put in line long before now, and with Queen of the Ring happening we’ll have to wait perhaps another month, if not longer, for a new contender to be confirmed. Things aren’t much better with the IC title after Sol Ruca botched the Sol Snatcher again, and being ‘out injured’ days before the title match at Clash in Italy isn’t a good sign either, even if that’s just storyline. It’s a mess all around and no one looks good. Queen of the Ring might provide a bright spark, depending on who is allowed to take part, but will it just be an obvious parade for one big name or a fair chance to elevate someone? Right now I’m keeping my expectations low until we see who is involved.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days’ time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
