Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! Bad Blood is in the history books and the Women’s World Championship Match descended into chaos with a DQ finish and the surprise return of Raquel Rodriguez to aid Liv Morgan. With the Crown Jewel event and a Champion versus Champion match between Morgan and Nia Jax, and Survivor Series all on the horizon what’s next for the women of Raw? Let’s get into it, and find out…
RHEA RIPLEY had a promo video about the events of Bad Blood but it missed out the part of the DQ finish. Ripley vowed to give Morgan another beating and said she’d go through Rodriguez too in order to do it.
JACKIE REDMOND and CATHY KELLEY handled interview duties.
An ‘earlier today’ video showed RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ arriving with LIV MORGAN and Dominik Mysterio. Jackie Redmond got some comments as Morgan brushed off the fact that Rhea Ripley ‘techincally’ beat her by DQ but bragged about still being the champion. Morgan also claimed that she was done with Ripley and now was focused on Crown Jewel and the champions clash against Nia Jax. When Redmond tried to ask Rodriguez if she was a part of The Judgement Day now Morgan cut off the interview and the trio got back into their car to ‘leave’ before the show had even started.
NXT General Manager AVA was backstage in Raw GM Adam Pearce’s office but nothing of value came from the segment even when the guest ‘celeb’ rapper appeared.
Ten-Woman Tag Team Match
KATANA CHANCE, KAYDEN CARTER, LYRA VALKYRIA, NATALYA & ZELINA VEGA defeated Unholy Union (ALBA FYRE & ISLA DAWN) & Pure Fusion Collective (SHAYNA BASZLER, SONYA DEVILLE & ZOEY STARK).
Katana wore her sparkled-up face mask again from last week. Carter and Stark started off and Stark decked Carter with a Clothesline right off the bell. After Stark taunted Chance about her mask, things broke down with a mass brawl between the teams that led to Valkyria hitting her Dropkick through the ropes to Deville. Chance would hit a Corkscrew Plancha onto Stark. Vega hit a Meteora off the apron to Fyre. Natalya tagged herself in just before Carter hit a Crossbody off the top to Dawn and Baszler on the floor.
Natalya ran the ropes thinking of a dive or something but Deville tripped her up, dragged her out and sent Natalya into the ring steps. After a commercial break, Fyre was legal against Natalya who countered a Double Team Suplex by the Union with a Snap Double Suplex. Vega and Stark got the tags and Vega hit some kicks then a Flying Headscissors from the middle rope. Stark hit a Superkick but Vega would counter a Suplex into a Stundog Millionaire. Stark didn’t notice a blind tag by Deville so thought she’d taken her out when she entered the ring. Vega hit a Moonsault on Stark but pinned her, and since she wasn’t legal it left Vega open for a Running Knee from Deville.
Chance broke up the pin attempt and Baszler hit her Low Knee Strike to her. The women got their spots in as Carter hit Baszler with a Superkick, just to take a Back Suplex from Dawn who in turn took an Enzigiri from Valkyria. Frye hit a Tornado DDT to Valkyria, before Vega hit a Codebreaker to Fyre. Vega ate Like a Sniper from Stark, who then got hit with Natalya’s Discus Clothesline. Deville hit a round of kicks to take out Natalya, before Vega jumped onto her with a Back Sleeper. That allowed Valkyria to tag in and while Deville backed into the corner to then toss Vega off, it left her open to take Valkyria’s Top Rope Legdrop finish from her NXT UK days to pin Deville.
BIANCA BELAIR and JADE CARGILL had a promo video and once again Belair played down the previous loss to Iyo Sky. They said the tag title match against Damage CTRL would be next week.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
This was the first week of the two-hour Raw ‘era’ which might only last until Raw’s move to Netflix in the new year. Although the ten-woman tag was harmless, it was another week and another PFC loss. The stable has not only done none of its members any favours but it’s also hurt the rest of the division with how many other women have been dragged into the feud. There wasn’t much this week with Morgan and Ripley, aside from the WWE glossing over the mess that was the Shark Cage match that ended with a DQ finish. But this Raw had a double taping with an international tour next week so there should be more to see next week.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
