Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! Money in the Bank is just days away, with the all-important Women’s Ladder Match full of its participants. Ahead of that, the three women from the Raw side in the bout take part in a Tag Team Match as The Judgment Day face Sol Ruca and Lola Vice. Not forgetting a Number One Contendership Match for the Women’s World Championship as Becky Lynch takes on Liv Morgan. Will that match end with the expected shenanigans and lead to a Triple Threat Match with Stephanie Vaquer? Let’s get into it, and find out…
This week’s ‘Arrived Earlier Today’ videos included BECKY LYNCH.
MAXXINE DUPRI accompanied The Vision as Bron Breakker and Austin Theory faced Penta and Je’Von Evans. Late in the match, Dupri would distract the referee as Logan Paul tried to pass Theory a set of Brass Knuckles, but Evans got them first and used them to steal the win instead.
LIV MORGAN had a promo video, complaining about her rivals teaming up to rob her of the World title and being denied her rematch. Vowing that revenge is what she does best and said she’s end her issues once and for all with Vaquer at MITB. Finishing with her ‘Greatest of all Time’ line.
JACKIE REDMOND handled interview duties.
JAIDA PARKER was featured in a 946 promo video but didn’t speak in it.
Tag Team Match
The Judgment Day (Women’s Intercontinental Champion RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ & ROXANNE PEREZ) defeated LOLA VICE & SOL RUCA
The Faces both jumped the Heels immediately when the bell rang, then clubbed away at Rodriguez before Vice pushed her out to go after her on the floor. Leaving Perez to jump and apply a Back Sleeper in the ring to Ruca, making them legal in the match. Ruca tossed off Perez, and would then block Perez’s attempt at a Wheelbarrow move before moments later Ruca also blocked Perez’s tilt-a-whirl Russian Legsweep and then an attempt at an O’Connor Roll. Ruca would put some extra spins on hitting a Kingdom Falls and did some taunting with a surfboard pose before hitting a low Superkick to a kneeling Perez.
Vice got a tag as the Faces sent Perez to the ropes, taking her down with a Double Team Back Elbows followed by doubling up for Hip Attacks from both to the sides of Perez’s head at the same time. Perez kicked out at one and was able to tag out. Rodriguez easily escaped having her arm held by Vice with a hairpull Slam. Trying to grab Vice, Rodriguez was captured in a Triangle Choke but she easily powered up, swinging Vice into the ropes to break it and get a near fall. Rodriguez hit an Elbow Drop, but the second one missed as Vice rolled away. Leaving her open for a kick to the back as Vice got a count of one.
Ruca was tagged in, leading to Rodriguez goozling both opponents but they escaped, working over Rodriguez as Ruca used a leg trip, setting up for a Vice chest kick, a Facebuster from Ruca and then low Superkicks from both Faces. Followed by a Double Team Clothesline that sent Rodriguez over the ropes and to the floor. Perez tried to get involved and was sent over the ropes, and it seemed like Rodriguez was supposed to catch her but was out of position so Perez just tumbled to the floor. Vice hit a Seated Senton from off the apron to Rodriguez before Ruca hit a Springboard Corkscrew Crossbody to both Heels as the show went to a ‘commercial break’.
In the ring, Rodriguez distracted the ref, allowing Perez to grab Ruca by the hair, holding her at a neutral corner so Rodriguez could charge and hit a Corner Splash. Leading to the Vader Bomb Elbow for a two count before Ruca got choked on the ropes and Perez got a cheap shot choke as well. Rodriguez slid out, just to deliver a punch to Ruca at the ropes, getting a near fall back inside. Perez took a tag and would lock on a rest hold Camel Clutch to try and break Ruca’s back and make her humble. Ruca fought up to her feet with Perez on her back, but backed herself up into the Heel corner so Rodriguez made a tag and worked over Ruca with clubbing blows and stomps.
Rodriguez applied a Backbreaker over her shoulder briefly, but when Ruca escaped Rodriguez shut her down with a Shoulder Check for a two count. Rodriguez applied a Full Nelson as the show went back to ‘live action’. Perez would get tagged in, but Ruca fought out, escaping the Full Nelson then hitting an Enzigiri to Rodriguez before tagging out to Vice. Vice went House on Fire with chest kicks to Perez, Tornado Kicks then rapid fire kicks. Rodriguez tried to get involved but Vice dodged and Ruca hit Rodriguez with a Superkick, then a Dropkick to the back to send Rodriguez to a neutral corner with Perez down in the opposite one. Vice and Ruca hit Running Hip Attacks to The Judgment Day, running out to spin each other around to hit a second with some theatrical ‘face’ applied afterwards.
Vice hit a Back Suplex to Perez for a near fall. Vice held Perez and wanted a tag, but Rodriguez hauled Ruca off the apron to block it. Perez tried for a European Clutch pin on Vice, but on the kick out Vice applied a Rear Naked Choke. Rodriguez tried to pull Perez out of the ring, but sent over across the apron Ruca hit a Back Senton to Rodriguez. Inside the ring, Perez rolled back for the pin counter for a two count. Ruca made a blind tag and would catch Perez running in right after with a Forearm, and there was stumbling as the Faces went for a Double Team Suplex before on the second attempt Perez flipped herself free and tagged out to Rodriguez. Rodriguez went for a Clothesline on both opponents but only hit Vice and Ruca sent Rodriguez into the ropes with a Dropkick.
Ruca tried for a Springboard but Perez held the middle rope, making Ruca crash down and Rodriguez pounced with the Victoria Spin-Out Side Slam. Vice broke up the pin and would send Perez out, only for Perez to haul her out to the floor. In the ring, Rodriguez charged into the Heel corner when Ruca moved, but it allowed Perez to sneak a tag then drop down. So when Ruca went for Sol Snatcher, Perez grabbed her at the corner to block it. Rodriguez tried for a Tijana Bomb from the corner, but Ruca countered with a form of Headscissors Takeover. Ruca tagged out and would hit a Head Kick to Perez, leading to Ruca doing her feet-style Backstabber that sent Perez into a Tornado Head Kick but Rodriguez broke up the pin.
Vice went to her M.I.A. backfist on Rodriguez but she dodged out of the way and the blow wiped out Ruca unintentionally. Perez scooped up Vice with a European Clutch pin and stole the win for The Judgment Day. The Heels would gloat in the aisle as the show moved on.
In the Clubhouse of The Judgment Day, Liv Morgan praised her girls for their win and wanted her to bring the Briefcase to the club. The segment continued with a comedy bit about the men’s current storyline.
Becky Lynch would have a response of a promo video, with Lynch calling out Morgan for her history of cheating and using the number games, calling her a fake victim. Lynch finishing claiming the match was more about making sure that Morgan didn’t win.
LYRA VALKYRIA was interviewed by Bryon Saxton. Valkyria lamented about not being on top and blamed Bayley for her woes. BAYLEY herself would show up and mocked her rival for thinking she had any control over this. Bayley said this wasn’t over until she said it was, but just walked away to end the segment with the issues not being over between the two.
Jaida Parker would be in another 946 video, this time talking and mocking Solo Sikoa for not following his own advice and teaming up with The Bloodline again.
Number One Contendership Match for the Women’s World Championship
BECKY LYNCH Vs LIV MORGAN ended in a no-contest
Morgan grabbed the hair off the first lock-up, but Lynch managed to still get the better of it. Morgan would hit a slap, and got decked by a punch from Lynch who then fired off some stomps. Morgan got a Knee Strike but would be sent through the ropes, taking Lynch’s trio of strikes that sent Morgan down to the floor to take a Baseball Slide. Lynch tried for her Forearm off the apron but Morgan ducked, and Lynch would block being sent into the announce table, catching Morgan with a Back Elbow. Morgan countered being sent into the ring post, driving Lynch into it instead before sending Lynch into the crowd barricade.
Back inside, Morgan got a one count then hit some mount punches followed by stomps. Morgan hit the Corner Back Elbow, rolled out, the Corner Knee Strike and then a Basement Dropkick after rolling Lynch out for a near fall. Morgan applied a rest hold Chinlock, cutting off the escape with a hairpull Slam. Lynch would get a two count from a Backslide and right after avoided a Corner Knee Strike. Lynch came back with Clotheslines then a Leg Lariat, hitting a Corner Forearm then the Bex-Ploder, followed by a Final Cut for a near fall.
Moments later, Lynch did a flying nothing before getting the better of a strike exchange. Morgan hit a Codebreaker but off the momentum Lynch came off the ropes with a Jumping Shoulder Tackle to take down her opponent. The two traded blows and Lynch got the better of it, finishing with a European Uppercut. Lynch used a Double Underhook toss, trying for an Arm Bar but Morgan used the counter pin for a near fall. Morgan hit a Float-over DDT for a two count. Soon after, Morgan charged at Lynch at the ropes, perhaps thinking for ObLIVion but Lynch sent her through the cables to the floor, setting up for the Forearm off the apron. Morgan got tossed into the barricade then the ring apron but going for the announce table Morgan countered and tossed Lynch over it instead.
Lynch got back inside at the count of nine, and was rolled up for a near fall. Morgan hit Three Amigos, followed by a Basement Enzigiri for a near fall. Morgan went up top, but paid for taunting as Lynch caught her, eventually hitting a Superplex after trading blows and Lynch rolled through, hitting a DDT. Off the kick out, Lynch locked on an Arm Bar but once again Morgan used the pin hold to counter but this time Lynch turned the kick out into the Dis-Arm-Her. Locked in before Morgan bit into Lynch’s leg to force a break. Followed with a Half Crab submission on that leg as Lynch crawled across the ring trying to get the ropes, and when Morgan pulled her back Lynch countered with a sort of pin but was calling spots as the kick out happened just at one.
Morgan missed a corner charge, but would block Lynch going for her Springboard Kick and then hit a Missile Dropkick off the middle rope for a near fall. Morgan tried for her Springboard Side Codebreaker but was shoved off, then decked by a Lynch Big Boot. At this point, Raquel Rodriguez started coming down the aisle, giving Morgan the time to escape the Man-Handle Slam. Rodriguez distracted the ref, allowing Roxanne Perez at the other side of the ring to haul Lynch on the corner, driving her into the ring post. Morgan hit a Sunset Flip Powerbomb from the corner but Lynch still kicked out at two.
Lynch avoided ObLIVion and hit a Snap German Suplex to Morgan, before taking out Perez and Rodriguez from the apron. Lynch avoided another ObLIVion and landed the Man-Handle Slam but Perez put Morgan’s foot on the ropes and yelled at the ref to see it, denying the pin. Lynch hit a Baseball Slide on Rodriguez then a Forearm off the apron, before catching Morgan through the ropes with a kick followed by a Knee Strike. More distractions followed as Perez now got the ref’s attention, allowing Rodriguez to sweep Lynch’s leg and send her off the corner to the canvas.
STEPHANIE VAQUER finally showed up, wiping out Perez with a Superkick before protesting to the referee. That caused the official to see Rodriguez trying to pass her IC title to Morgan and finally the referee ejected the rest of The Judgment Day from ringside. Morgan mouthed off at Vaquer, but when Lynch charged Morgan managed to dodge and it caused Lynch to take out Vaquer on the apron. Before Morgan ended up doing the same with a Dropkick meant for Lynch. Lynch got a near fall from a Crucifix and tried for a Man-Handle Slam but Morgan fought out of it.
Furious, Vaquer stormed the ring and hit both opponents at the same time to deck them, causing the match to be thrown out. Vaquer hit a round of Headbutts to Lynch and then to Morgan, setting up the two for downed corner Meteoras in opposite corners. Vaquer grabbed a mic, ranting in her native tongue and called out GM Adam Pearce. Vaquer demanded both women at MITB and Pearce made it official for a Triple Threat Match at MITB for the Women’s World Championship. Vaquer made one more statement of her Corkscrew Moonsault finisher onto both opponents. Posing with her title as both rivals were down on the canvas to close out the show.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
It was a great match between Lynch and Morgan, overbooked at the end with the interference and the completely expected finish of Vaquer causing the match to be thrown out. They went a very long route to finally make the Triple Threat official, even though we all knew it was coming but at the same time, it’s what this has all built for so there’s no real complaints about it. The question will be if the match goes off cleanly or will we see an instant cash-in of Miss Money in the Bank during the contest. Elsewhere, the tag match was fine as well. A better performance from Vice in this one than what we’ve seen before (but she also had the workload shared which might be telling) and the misfire adds a little bit of hype for Women’s MITB. A solid go-home show that builds for the PLE this weekend.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days’ time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
