Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! We are only days away from the Bash in Berlin event and on top of the clash between Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest against Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio, we will also see a tag team title match. Once again The Unholy Union must defend the gold against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, and after a win on Smackdown the challengers will have momentum heading into this clash. So who will make the last statements before this weekend’s PLE? Let’s get into it, and find out…
Women’s World Champion LIV MORGAN along with the rest of The Judgement Day kicked off Raw. Morgan mocked her rival Ripley and claimed if Ripley wasn’t so egotistical then none of this (being in The Judgement Day etc) would have happened. She vowed that they’d stand over Ripley and Priest at Bash in Berlin and prove that her and Mysterio would always be on top. The LWO interrupted and it led to a brawl between the men. Which in turn led to an eight-man tag team match between the factions with Morgan at ringside. Morgan would help Dominik Mysterio steal the win over Rey, pulling Dominik out of the way of a Frog Splash attempt so Dominik could sneak the win off a La Magistral.
After the match, The Judgement Day put a beatdown on the LWO but RHEA RIPLEY and Damien Priest came out to get some revenge. Morgan tried to run through the crowd again but got caught and pulled back to be tossed into the announce table then the ring post. Morgan saved Mysterio from a beating with a Back Sleeper on Ripley before she fled with some of the group to leave Ripley to deck JD McDonagh with a Short-Arm Clothesline then a Riptide!
JACKIE REDMOND handled interview duties.
Tag Team Match
Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & KAIRI SANE) Vs Pure Fusion Collective (SHAYNA BASZLER & ZOEY STARK) w/h SONYA DEVILLE
CATHY KELLEY interviewed PFC before the match as they bragged about all the Superstars ‘sitting at home’ because of their attacks. Stark and Sky started off and traded flips to evade before Sky got a couple of strikes in. A blind tag by Baszler allowed her to use a Low Bridge to make Sky tumble to the floor so Deville could hit a cheap spot (missed by the cameras) as the referee got distracted.
After a commercial break, Sane got a tag and prevented on the other side when she stepped off Baszler’s back to deck Stark with a forearm. Sane hit Forearms to Baszler then a Cutlass to both her and Stark. Sane used a Headscissors counter off the ropes to take down Baszler and used a lockup-style grip to toss Stark over at the same time. Sane hit a charging Shoulder Thrust on both opponents and then her Sliding Forearm to Baszler in the same corner. Sane hit a Flying Forearm for (eventually) a two count.
Baszler escaped from a grounded submission to hit a Powerbomb counter on Sane and locked an Ankle Lock in. Sane kicked her away but the momentum sent Baszler back to her corner for Stark to tag in before Baszler hit the Low Knee Strike. Stark hit the Like A Sniper but Sky broke up the pin attempt. Stark hit Superkicks to Sky and Sane before she put Sane up top. At ringside, ZELINA VEGA showed up and took out Deville with an attack from before. Back in the ring Sane hit a Headbutt to drop Stark and in a cool spot, Sane hit the InSane Elbow to Stark while off the same corner Sky hit a Moonsault to the outside onto Baszler. Sane pinned Stark to win the match for the Sky Pirates.
SCARLETT accompanied Karrion Kross as he lost in a Triple Threat contendership match.
ALBA FYRE and ISLA DAWN had a hype video to mock Belair and Cargill and hype up themselves.
IVY NILE was part of Chad Gable’s promo video about Uncle Howdy.
Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest would have a promo video as Ripley bragged about being a ‘bad guy’ because of The Judgement Day.
It was announced that next week Zelina Vega would face Shanya Baszler one-on-one on Raw.
Ivy Nile would accompany Chad Gable to the stage as he faced Uncle Howdy. Nile would try to help American Made to fight off the Wyatt Sicks but her Back Sleeper on Rowan had little effect.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Another week that saw Morgan and Mysterio running from the fight against The Terror Twins but it still worked. I fully expect the feud to continue until the next PLE event at least but I wonder how long they can drag out the story until the act of running from the fight grows stale. Elsewhere, the tag champs at least got some screen time but I have a fear that the WWE will again just give Belair and Cargill a tag run just so their ‘big two’ tag team has gold. I’d hope not but it’s not like the WWE has properly like the Union shine on TV as champs. Lastly, the PFC experiment seems to be over before it’s begun with yet another loss after Vega returned to work. It was a fine match and the Sky Pirates have been great as newfound babyfaces. I can probably expect Kayden Carter and Katana Chance to show up next week to even the odds and get more revenge. It’s been a lackluster story that has done no one any good.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days’ time for the post-Bash in Berlin edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
