Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! We are on the road not just to WrestleMania but to the Elimination Chamber event and the contendership match for the World Women’s Championship. Qualifying matches are underway for the women’s Chamber match after Becky Lynch won hers last week and this past Smackdown Bianca Belair also got a win to enter the match. We will see Liv Morgan against Zoey Stark on Raw to qualify and there will be two more qualifiers on Smackdown. So who will be the next to enter the Chamber? And what next for the Championship situation with the tag titles or between Nia Jax and Rhea Ripley? Let’s get into it, and find out…
Smackdown’s B-FAB and The Street Profits accompanied Bobby Lashley for a qualifying match for the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match.
CATHY KELLEY handled interview duties.
Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
LIV MORGAN defeated ZOEY STARK
There a hype video before the match where both women made remarks. Stark didn’t get a full entrance. Morgan got a Roll-up right away for a near fall. Morgan hit strikes to Stark in one corner and then stomps in another. Stark would come back with a Clothesline to level Morgan then mounted strikes. Morgan would hit a ‘Rana counter and then sent Stark through the ropes to hit a Shoulder Thrust. Moments later, Morgan hit a Springboard Enzigiri to send Stark off the apron.
Stark would cut off a dive attempt with a strike, before Morgan repaid the fave to block Stark’s springboard attempt to knock her back down to the floor. It all led to a Death Valley Driver onto the apron by Stark. After a commercial break, Morgan was back in control with the corner strike combo then the MX from the middle ropes. Morgan went for another Corner Knee Strike but Stark countered into a Powerbomb for a near fall.
Stark hit a Missile Dropkick for a near fall. Morgan was able to escape from a Z-360 attempt and moments later used a Crucifix Driver out of the corner for a near fall. A Codebreaker by Morgan was blocked as Stark countered into a Slingshot to send Morgan into a corner. Morgan would counter with two boots into a stomp to block the charge. Stark hit a Superkick when Morgan ran in but only got a two count.
Stark went up top for a Phoenix Splash just to only hit the canvas. Morgan hit the Side Codebreaker then ObLIVion to get the win.
BECKY LYNCH went to the ring for a promo. Lynch admitted she had an obsession with the business and told a little history lesson and went the emotional route about missing family moments. She eventually turned things up by vowing to showing her brutal side and wanted ‘her title’ that she hasn’t held in two years. Lynch noted that the fans love ‘Mami’ and the fact the people think no one can beat Ripley. Lynch then cockily made a toast to Ripley’s last few weeks as champion.
NIA JAX would interrupt and faked that she respected Lynch. Putting on crocodile tears and making multiple references to Lynch being a mother. Eventually getting to the point and saying she was going to be the next Women’s World Champion. RHEA RIPLEY stormed out for a brawl but once again Jax used a distraction to get the edge, sending Ripley into Lynch who was in a corner before she squashed both women. This time however Ripley escaped from a Samoan Drop attempt before Lynch hit a Missile Dropkick to send Jax out of the ring. Lynch and Ripley had a face off but Ripley kept her focus to use a Big Boot to send Jax down and finally stand tall.
JACKIE REDMOND handled interview duties.
VALHALLA accompanied Ivar as he faced LA Knight in a Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match. Valhalla tried to distract early on but Knight would still win the match.
It was announced there would be a ‘Last Chance Battle Royal’ for the last spot in the Women’s Elimination Chamber Match with the losing participants in the previous Qualifying matches.
Backstage CANDICE LERAE and INDI HARTWELL‘s conversation with Adam Pearce was interrupted by CHELSEA GREEN who wanted in the Battle Royal. Pearce claimed he hadn’t made a final decision about who was in the match. Green ranted that she needed to be in the match make WrestleMania the biggest yet, but gasped in outrage when Hartwell snapped and said she needed this opportunity to compete in a WWE event in Australia. When Green ran her mouth, it got her in hot water with one of the women she badmouthed in SHAYNA BASZLER who walked in with Zoey Stark. Baszler remarked she wanted to talk about the tag titles but instead said she’d settle for taking Green apart next week.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Only one women’s match this week but it was a great one, so I’m fine with quality over quantity compared to last week when we had two dire tag matches. Morgan winning was expected but she’s going to be in a match with bigger names so her chances may be low. The announcement of a Battle Royal for next week opens up the door for other competitors to be involved and if rumours are to be believed they might well indeed include a Superstar who hasn’t been in any of the other qualifiers yet. The promo with Lynch, Jax and then Ripley wasn’t too much on the mark. They’re pushing Lynch hard again but will the hype match up to it if we eventually get Ripley against Lynch?
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days’ time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
