Extreme Rules is just a few short hours away and for the first time in a long time in WWE, Extreme Rules is not only packed to the brim with Extreme Matches but matches that matter and matches that make sense with their stipulations.
WWE has been on a roll in recent months, with the last several weeks especially proving that drawing out a feud doesn’t always mean the same matches over and over again week after week. Not only do we have the RAW Women’s Championship defended in a Ladder Match for the first time ever between Bayley and Bianca Belair, but we also have an extreme rules match between rivals Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey.
In recent years stipulations have been plastered onto feuds at the last minute that make little to no sense, but here we have storylines that fit perfectly with the feuds seen on both brands and we just can’t get enough! So with a new era in full swing let’s dive into our PPV Predictions:
Ladder Match – Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair Vs Bayley
Elle: Well would you just look at that, Bayley is once again shaking up the game and this time she has badass cronies to back her up all the way to the moon and back. I have to say I’ve absolutely been loving Damage CTRL these last few months and seeing them dripped in gold would be the perfect next step in their complete domination of the WWE Women’s division.
Bianca Belair has been great both in and out of the ring over the last year but I still can’t help feel like things could have gone a little further with more feuds and more showcasing of Bianca’s pure athleticism and talent. Bianca Belair is undoubtedly talented with an even brighter future in WWE than she already has right now but I seriously hope that doesn’t come at the expense of steamrolling Bayley and Damage CTRL. I say give Bayley the gold and let a reinvigorated Bianca bounce back with a little more grit. Prediction: Bayley
Adam (TheInsanityInc): Bayley has been a complete terror since her return and Damage CTRL for the most part has been strong. The twist of Belair getting new ‘accessories’ of Bliss and Asuka to back her up had me worried, but after this past Raw the playing field might not be as evened out as first thought. This match could either be fantastic or an overbooked mess if there’s too much interference. For me? I think that Belair’s had a solid reign as champion but much like last year, things are getting a bit stale. Let’s hope the WWE hasn’t just built up Damage CTRL just to take a fall here to put Belair over like she’s a female Cena. Prediction: Bayley
Extreme Rules Match – Smackdown Women’s Championship: Liv Morgan Vs Ronda Rousey
Elle: Time and time again over the last few months I’ve failed to see Liv dropping the gold and once again I have to say for whatever reason I just can’t see that happening here again tonight. On paper you would expect Rousey to demolish Liv Morgan but over the last few months I could easily see Liv pick up a sneaky win especially thanks to the Extreme Rules match type advantage. I’m not quite sure if I can predict a heel turn in the traditional sense for Liv but I also can’t see her picking up the win purely on her own, could we see the Shayna teases finally come to fruition? Only time will tell. Prediction: Liv Morgan
Adam: No one expected Morgan to cash in successfully. No one expected Morgan to retain over Rousey the first time. And yet here we are, and still Morgan is seen as the underdog in this match. Will the No DQ stipulation lead to an out that protects either champion or challenger in their loss? Or perhaps lead to an appearance by another Superstar to make a statement during a title clash? It’s tough to say, but with this being a new era of WWE management I’m not so sure we’re going to see another Rowdy title reign. I do hope these two don’t go all out as with how wild the match could be, we might end up seeing injuries if they really go to great extremes. Prediction: Liv Morgan
