Earlier today 2K released the latest tease for WWE 2K26 and before I could even take a breather, they came right back out swinging with yet another bunch of teases so let’s see what else they teased.
To be sure you don’t miss out on any of our upcoming content, be sure to check back as we break down 2K’s latest WWE 2K26 Teases.
It looks as though this set of teases packs a real punch so let’s not waste anymore time and dive right in.

Starting at the very top of the image and quite honestly the thing that stood out straight away, the retro TV with the LIGHT IT UP VHS!!!
If the Wrestlepalooza tease wasn’t enough to convince you that AJ Lee is indeed returning to the series, will this put your mind at ease. Light it up refers to AJ’s iconic theme which I’ll be playing to death in this year’s game as I have AJ Lee facing off in countless dream matches. AJ last appeared in WWE 2K15 over a decade ago so I can’t wait to see her lace up her Chuck Taylors and light up WWE 2K26. The TV ready to play could also be a tease that a trailer is coming soon which features a first look at AJ Lee but I could be reading too much into that.
Just below the TV is a collection of items or weapons which could all be representing the same thing. The gasoline and fire extinguisher could be grouped together to hint at the return of inferno matches which has been speculated in recent weeks. Inferno matches last appeared way back in WWE 2K14 over a decade ago and although they rarely appear on WWE TV I would love to see them return in the game. Inferno matches would give fans yet another way to play and lean a little more into arcade fun, especially when playing against your friends at home and online. I’d also be intrigued to see how 2K tackle the mode this time around and what a victory scene in this era of gaming would look like. With 2K25 welcoming intergender matches to the series, it would also make the match type a first for female superstars so fingers crossed!
Looking at the items separately the gasoline could still represent the inferno match, with the fire extinguisher representing the return of the extinguisher weapon. Whilst they might not be as fatal as say the sledgehammer, fire extinguishers were always fun to play with back in the day and offered up an alternative to the hard hitting usuals like Kendo Sticks, Baseball bats and steel chairs. I don’t want to get too ahead of myself as the extinguisher and gasoline could be paired together as said previously but I would really love to see both in-game.
Interestingly in the middle of the items is a miniature set of ladders. The only two ideas I can come up with is that the ladders either mean ladders within inferno matches or an update to existing ladder matches or how ladders are used. Earlier today in our previous teaser breakdown we discussed the trashcan theorising that there could be new animations or strikes for the trashcan which is already in WWE 2K Series. Like the trashcan maybe the ladder has been updated or improved to allow new physics or strikes which would be welcomed especially with how many items there are in the game. Fans have also asked for more setups for ladders in Hardcore and ladder matches so this is also a possibility. Aside from updates to existing features or adding them into inferno matches, I’m not 100% sure what they could mean so let me know in the comments below what you think.
Sticking with extreme weapons already in the game we can also see a sledgehammer and barbed wire baseball bat. Like with the trashcan and ladder maybe both items have also been updated with new animations and strikes? If not the obvious nods would be for both Mankind and Triple H who have been teased for the attitude era of the game. Classic Triple H has pretty much already been confirmed thanks to the various covers he is featured on but aside from a brief clip in the attitude era trailer we haven’t seen anything from Mankind. I would like to think these two represent updates to weapons but part of me thinks they could simply represent these attitude era superstars.
Last and oh boy definitely not least we have the official definite tease of thumbtacks in WWE 2K26. Earlier in the week we theorised that thumbtacks would be introduced in this year’s game after seeing a few tacks laid upon the table. Well the cat is officially out of the bag (unless that’s why the bag is so full) with countless tacks laid out which I shall be doing time after time. Thumbtacks were last used in SmackDown Vs RAW 2009 so I can’t wait to see what 2K’s version of the weapon looks like, I just really hope they are devastating and leave a literal impression. As I’ve said previously thumbtacks were one of my favourite things about AEW Fight Forever and so much fun to play with so it will be interesting to see how WWE 2K’s compare.
Today’s previous teasers, while intriguing and cool, have totally been blown out of the water with these teases so I can’t wait to see what else hides behind the glass as we get even closer to WWE 2K26.
Let us know in the comments below what you make of today’s teases and what you think the weapons teased could mean for this year’s game.
Stay tuned to the Revelleution so you don’t miss out on any of our WWE 2K26 coverage and let us know what or who you would like to see teased next.
Until Next Time, I’ve been the Revelleution.
