Earlier today WWE confirmed the unfortunate news that Lana has been released from WWE alongside fellow female Superstars Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett.
Lana signed with WWE back in 2013 were she originally started her WWE career as a manager for real life husband Rusev, before turning her sights on the squared circle.
In recent months Lana has competed alongside fellow RAW Superstar Naomi as a tag team in a bid to capture the Women’s Tag Team Championships from longtime rivals Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, who spent most of 2020 putting Lana through tables. Most recently the team of Lana and Naomi competed together this passed Monday on RAW in a losing effort to Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke.
Following the news Lana took to social media to thank the fans:
“I will never forget the fans, and the love they showed me. Whether it was a tank, power-suits, flags, CRUSH, Rusev, 900 partners, weddings or tables: I tried to always entertain you, and you definitely elevated me. Thank you.”
Whilst Lana may not have been the best in-ring competitor, she certainly made up for it with her sheer passion and determination to improve in a bid to show just how passionate and serious she is about wrestling. With Lana’s husband Rusev (now Miro) competing in AEW, we can only hope this isn’t the last we have seen of Lana.
