Last month we had the greatest show now WWE is set to deliver the Horror show as the superstars of WWE prepare for this year’s Extreme Rules.
While 2020 has been one hell of a year for Asuka, she has also been the victim of countless attacks from the women’s roster in recent months be it Nia Jax and her recent rival Bayley and Sasha Banks. In what has been a dream match scenario for many Sasha Banks and Asuka will go toe to toe as Asuka puts her RAW Women’s Championship on the line.
Elsewhere Sasha’s tag team partner Bayley will put her Championship on the line against her rival Nikki Cross after weeks of back and forth action between the pair resulting in Nikki blindsiding both Sasha and Bayley on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.
With an air of mystery and excitement looming will the Female Champions of WWE be about to encounter a shred of horror all of their own as they put their titles on the line? It’s time for our “The Horror Show” at Extreme Rules PPV Predictions!
Raw Women’s Championship Match: Asuka Vs Sasha Banks
Elle: I have to say I’m really looking forward to this match up! Since winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships with Bayley on SmackDown, Sasha Banks seems to have a new lease of life and I really love these dream match scenarios she seems to be pulling out of the bag. If anything Sasha’s NXT Great American Bash match with Io Shirai proved she still has so much more to offer and a worthy champion should she manage to dethrone Asuka.
Do I see Sasha picking up the title? I highly doubt it and if anything I imagine this will be yet another step in the upcoming Sasha/Bayley feud we’re bound to get sooner rather than later. Regardless of the outcome I could easily see this being a match of the night contender with Asuka yet again cementing herself as the reigning RAW Women’s Champion. Not to mention I really REALLY want that Asuka Vs Kairi match they teased on RAW Talk! Prediction: Asuka
Adam(TheInsanityInc): This match should be a fantastic one, and it’s been built very well with great matches in the run up to it. As great as Blueprint Banks has been, I think SummerSlam plans will mean that Banks may have other duties to do back over on Smackdown so we won’t see Two Belts Banks yet. While Asuka may have a certain former MMA fighter to battle with. One thing is for sure, this has all the makings to be one of the best women’s matches we’ve seen in recent memory! Prediction: Asuka.
James: We all love Asuka an she has been doing wonderful work since becoming RAW Women’s Champion when she won the MITB ladder match a few months ago and her title match at Extreme Rules against Sasha Banks should be a brilliant match. However, this is a great chance to get a great match from the two of them whilst using it as a way to work towards Bayley vs Banks down the line. Prediction: Asuka to retain
Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: Bayley Vs Nikki Cross
Elle: Had you said to me months ago that I would be a huge fan of heel Bayley I would have called you delusional but I honestly have to say I love this narky teen emo phase Bayley has mould her character into. Like Bayley Nikki Cross has also tweaked her original persona yet still has that crazy side that likes to sneak out now and again. While I would love to see Cross crowned SmackDown women’s champion I can’t help but feel the timing is a little off with everything Sasha and Bayley and doing right now. The women’s tag team champions are on fire and unless we see a major turn from one or the other I can’t see Bayley dropping the title until they drop the tag team championships Prediction: Bayley
Adam: Cross has emerged as a surprising challenger considering she was long used as the Jannetty to Alexa Bliss’ Shawn Michaels, but Cross has risen to the moment and has been very entertaining with her over the top antics. However Bayley has been amazing in her heel role, and I don’t see that stopping any time soon. This should be a smash hit of a match however. Prediction: Bayley.
James: For anyone who knows me personally, I’m a huge fan of Nikki Cross. Her character work and ability in ring for a smaller woman is fantastic. However, thinking about longer term storytelling, it makes a lot more sense for Bayley to retain her belt in order to build towards the much anticipated match between her and Sasha Banks which should hopefully be taking place at Summerslam. A loss for Nikki shouldn’t be too damaging as she is still super popular and has had some good moments recently on TV. Prediction: Bayley to retain
