Later this evening the men and women of WWE will compete in a night filled to the brim with championship gold. With each and every WWE Championship on the line neither title nor their holders are safe. Who will leave Clash of Champions 2020 with gold around their waist? It’s time for our PPV Predictions:
Raw Women’s Championship: Asuka Vs Zelina Vega
Elle: Asuka Vs Zelina is actually a feud I’ve wanted to see for quite some time and I can’t help but feel a little cheated by the means it’s panned out. Ever since the mixup during the Mickie and Asuka showdown it feels as though everything involving the RAW Women’s Championship has been a bit of a mess. Don’t get me wrong I’m still pretty invested in the match itself and have no doubt it will still be a good match to watch but I’m hoping if we are to revisit the matchup that we get some substance to go along with it. When it comes to the result I see this as nothing more than a filler feud for Asuka until WWE decide who should be the one to take the title from her. Prediction: Asuka
Adam(TheInsanityInc): The Raw Women’s Championship picture has been a mess since the amazing feud between Sasha Banks and Asuka. Vega deserves a little better than being a rush-job challenger, and certainly Asuka deserves way better than being on the Pre-Show. All things considered this should be a great match, but the outcome isn’t in doubt for me. Another win for The Empress of Tomorrow before she moves on to the next opponent. Prediction: Asuka
Women’s Tag Team Championships: Baszler & Jax Vs Riott Squad
Elle: I’m pretty torn on this outcome, whilst I almost guarantee this will be the match to finally lead to a full on Nia/Shayna feud with them dropping the titles, I don’t want the women’s tag team championships to be the factor in so many teams disbanding ala Sasha Banks and Bayley as seen in recent weeks. While they may not have the immediate chemistry as seen in other teams I wouldn’t mind seeing the pair go down the route of Cesaro and Sheamus and becoming a dominant force in the women’s tag team division. On the other hand, I’ve been a huge fan of the Riott Squad since day one and a championship reign in long overdue for both Liv and Ruby Riott so I would love nothing more than to see them pick up the titles later this evening. Whilst Nia and Shayna have an abundance of strength and dominance behind them I can’t help but feel that The Riott Squad’s tag team chemistry will finally reward them with a championship win. Prediction: The Riott Squad
Adam: This one is a bit tricky to call as The Riott Squad have been somewhat built up for this, and the disfunctional team of Baszler and Jax has managed to work to an extent. All being said, I think that they are still building something for a match between Baszler and Jax and one another costing themselves the tag titles could be the spark they need for it. Prediction: The Riott Squad
Smackdown Women’s Championship: Bayley Vs Nikki Cross
Elle: I won’t lie I’m a tag gutted we’re at these same crossroads yet again with Bayley and Nikki Cross which is a huge shame given the talents of both women. Cross like the Riott Squad is long overdue a title reign but unlike the Riott Squad, I honestly can’t see Nikki leaving Clash of Champions with any championship gold. The obvious roadmap is Bayley Vs Sasha Banks for the SmackDown women’s championship and it’s unfortunate that Nikki has to be the one to yet again take the loss at the hands of Bayley. WWE could have easily thrown in someone like Dana Brooke or Tamina to have a moment in the spotlight without Nikki ranking up the losses when it comes to title matches. If I was to hazard a guess I wouldn’t be surprised to see not one but two interference angles later tonight with both Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss getting involved one way or another, the only real question is who will get involved first. When all comes to all I have absolutely zero doubt that Bayley will leave Clash of Champions still your SmackDown Women’s Champion. Prediction: Bayley
Adam: I have a feeling this match will end up being just transitional for both Cross’ story with Alexa Bliss, and the feud between Banks and Bayley. Sure, we’ve seen this match before a lot in the past year and it should be good. But the outcome isn’t in doubt here. Bayley’s been too good to drop the strap to an opponent she’s beaten time and time again in 2020. Prediction: Bayley
