Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! Elimination Chamber is in the history books and the Raw Women’s Championship Match looks set for WrestleMania. Becky Lynch retained the red brand’s belt over Hall of Famer Lita, while Bianca Belair enjoyed using the last entry to win the contendership Chamber match. So what’s next for the women of Raw? Let’s get into it, and find out…
Women’s Singles Match
RHEA RIPLEY defeated NIKKI A.S.H.
Ash mouthed off and slapped Ripley, taking a Headbutt for her trouble. Using her power to toss Ash across the ring then bury the shoulder into the stomach at the corner a couple times. Ripley did another toss, and almost paid for charging when Ash dodged but Ripley stopped herself. Catching Ash and holding her former partner up for a lengthy Delayed Suplex.
Ash bailed to the floor, and took too long ranting at the commentators so Ripley went out to slam her head into the table top. Going back in, Ash caught her with clubbing blows. it was all for nothing as a Ripley Head Kick followed then the Riptide for the most dominating win yet over Ash.
DANA BROOKE got revenge over the scumbag who couldn’t handle being Friend Zone’d. Tricking him by using a kiss pin to trap Reggie down and recapture the 24/7 Championship. Akira trying to smooch TAMINA went about as well as expected.
BIANCA BELAIR went to the ring for a promo, bragging about winning at Elimination Chamber but Belair sounded semi-heel with her works, claiming to be the hardest working Superstar in the locker room. BECKY LYNCH eventually came out, mocking Belair for finally making it back to the ‘Big Time’ and pointing out that she main evented first. Belair coming back with a lame line that she did it better. Lynch reminding Belair about Summerslam. The production truck seemed to pipe in cheers as Belair lost the audience going about having went from the back of the line to earn her way. Lynch woke the crowd up claiming she was a victim and that the crowd turned on her because of Belair. Lynch saying a great line that if she hurt Lita, someone she loved, imagine what she’d do to someone she hated in Belair. Belair tried to step up but DOUDROP interrupted for their match.
Women’s Singles Match
BIANCA BELAIR defeated DOUDROP
Lynch stayed around to join commentary. Belair paid for being cute and trying to taunt Lynch, getting grabbed and roughed up by Doudrop. Lynch ranted about being a victim while Belair again did her usual flips and taunts, only to be showed up by Doudrop blocking a Hiptoss and using a Lucha Cradle to get a near fall. Belair worked Doudrop over with Shoulder Thrusts as Lynch defended her underhanded tactics, claiming she’s earned the right to grab a rope once in a while.
After some messy corner blow exchanges, Belair went for a KOD but Doudrop shoved her off. Using the ropes to catch a break then hitting a Headbutt on Belair when she went after her.Belair came back with a Headstand to use her feet to send Doudrop down, then a Crossbody off the apron but took too long taunting Lynch as Doudrop hit a Running Crossbody on the floor.
After a commercial break Belair took a Backdrop Driver but countered a charge into a Spinebuster. Hitting the Handspring Moonsault to Doudrop’s back and later Belair hitting a Suplex eventually. Doudrop would later miss a Cannonball to the corner. The Viper Driver got a near fall for Doudrop. Doudrop went for a Vader Bomb but Belair caught her for a Running Powerbomb. Then using the ropes to muscle Doudrop up for a KOD for the win.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Belair and Doudrop should have been good, but there was a lot of stalling and messy corner shot exchanges that dragged and hurt the bout. Belair’s promo was weak as well, especially against the wicked tongue of Lynch so there’s a lot of work that needs to be done there. Elsewhere, another week and another win for Ripley but with the single titles all wrapped up where does it all lead for Ripley with WrestleMania on the horizon?
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
