Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! Damage CTRL continue to cause carnage on Monday nights and both Candice LeRae and Bianca Belair felt that last week. Will Damage CTRL continue to have the upper hand with the numbers game? Or can Belair and her ‘accessories’ manage to get some payback? Let’s get into it, and find out…
RHEA RIPLEY backed up The Judgement Day as they confronted The OC.
Non-Title Tag Team Match
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Damage CTRL (DAKOTA KAI & IYO SKY) w/h BAYLEY defeated Raw Women’s Champion BIANCA BELAIR & CANDICE LERAE
They recapped last week’s beatdown on Belair and LeRae during Damage CTRL’s entrance. Bayley joined the commentary team and claimed that her issues with LeRae were due to her not texting or calling Bayley to let her know she’d be a part of Raw after they’d teamed years and years ago in the indies. Sky started off with LeRae and took LeRae down quick with a tackle before hitting punches. LeRae came back with Arm Drags but Sky impressively skipped out of a Headscissors to land on her feet. Sky posed however and ate a Dropkick for it before Belair was tagged in, instantly hitting the Handspring Moonsault for a near fall.
Kai was soon tagged in as Bayley dodged questions about if she wanted to be Champion again. Kai ended up tagging back to Sky as the two heels tried for a Double Team Suplex but Bianca flipped out, almost botching the landing as she tagged out to LeRae as the faces hit Dropkicks to their opponents. Belair then using LeRae as a weapon to hold her on the shoulders and swinging LeRae’s feet into the heels. Before sending LeRae with a whip to hit a Baseball Slide to Sky. Belair dumping Kai over the ropes to the floor off a Glam Slam position, leading to LeRae hitting a Springboard off the bottom rope Crossbody to Damage CTRL (but barely hitting it).
After a commercial break Sky had a Cobra Twist applied to Belair, and soon after tried for a Headscissors takedown but Belair countered into a Backbreaker. Kai was tagged in and tried to stop Belair from tagging by pulling the braid, buying time as Sky tried to haul LeRae off the apron but got kicked away. Belair making the tag as LeRae peppered Kai with strikes to back her into a corner, and then did the same to Sky to shove her into Kai and hit blows. Shoving both women out and using Kai as the springboard to hit the Step-Up Senton on Sky. A Low Superkick to Kai getting a nearfall.
LeRae went to the middle ropes but Sky briefly grabbed her leg, getting enough time for Kai to haul LeRae down. Sky got the tag and hit a vaulting Meteora to LeRae down in the corner for a near fall. Sky hit a German Suplex before tagging out as Kai hit a Facewash boot for a two count. Bayley claimed she’d become Women’s Champion again ‘when she felt like it’. LeRae hit an Enzigri that allowed her to tag in Belair while Kai was sent staggering back so Sky could tag in.
Belair went House on Fire on Sky, kipping up after the Single Leg Dropkick before hitting a dangerous looking version of a Tilt-a-Whirl Gutbuster on Kai. Sky took a Back Body Drop then punches in the corner, before Belair tagged out as she hit Sky with a Delayed Suplex. But Sky took a rough landing as LeRae hit a Missile Dropkick as Sky was held for the Suplex. Kai broke up the pin attempt and then hit a Scorpion Kick on Belair before countering a Glam Slam to roll through and send Belair to the apron. A Pump Kick sending Belair down before LeRae hit a Codebreaker on Kai.
Bayley had seen enough, leaving commentary and getting a Kendo Stick from under the ring but Belair cut her off, tackling her over the announce table. That left LeRae easy pickings for the numbers game as Sky held LeRae in the Air Raid Crash position but let Kai tag in before hitting it. The tag champs hit LeRae with a Double Team Wheelbarrow into an Electric Chair move as Kai scored the pin.
CATHY KELLEY handled interview duties.
Backstage NXT’s CORA JADE approached Rhea Ripley, explaining the story behind her Halloween Havok clash with Roxanne Perez and the Pick Your Posion matches. Selecting Ripley to face Perez as she needed someone ruthless and dominating. Ripley agreed, musing that Perex and Jade’s situation was similar to herself and Raquel Rodriguez used to be friends.
Rhea Ripley would be in Dominik Mysterio’s corner with the rest of The Judgement Day as he faced AJ Styles. At one point distracting Styles so Mysterio could hit a Springboard Plancha to the floor. Then later pulling Syles from the top rope as the ref was distracted. Ripley would end up leading to Mysterio getting the win, holding Styles’ leg to distract tp allow Mysterio to Roll-up Styles for the upset win.
Damage CTRL were interviewed as the took exception to being asked about what was next for them rather than being allowed to celebrate their win tonight. Gloating about how they’d taken out Alexa Bliss and Asuka and vowed to deal with Shotzi and Raqyel Rodriguez on Smackdown. Bayley making a threat that she’d make a statement against Belair next week. Right after the interview it was confirmed that Bianca Belair and Bayley would clash in a non-title match next week.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
A mostly fine tag match but there were clear moments of Belair being wild with her moves. It’s one thing to go for flashy moves but another to take risks and liberties with opponents. Belair is better than that and if you can’t do moves or spots safely then don’t do them at all. Another Belair and bayley clash is expected, but with no Women’s match announced yet for Crown Jewel (unless we get something on Smackdown) I expect next week’s match to end in some schenangans to set up perhaps another multi-woman clash at Crown Jewel.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days’ time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
