Over the last few years the WWE Worlds Collide specials have quickly become fan favourite events among the WWE Universe, as superstars from RAW, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK all compete in a series of dream/unique matches all for the sake of bragging rights.
Tonight as no different as later this evening superstars from both NXT and NXT UK take to the ring to prove which is the better NXT brand. While Rhea Ripley looks to face off against former NXT UK rival Toni Storm in an NXT Championship Match, NXT UK’s very own Champion Kay Lee Ray looks to continue her winning streak as she takes on NXT Superstar Mia Yim. With one day to go before this year’s Royal Rumble will the stars of Worlds Collide put on a show too hard to top for this year’s Main Roster? It’s time for our Worlds Collide PPV Predictions:
Worlds Collide Pre-Show: Mia Yim Vs Kay Lee Ray
Elle: While this match will no doubt be one to remember the fact that it has been given next to no build up or reason is somewhat of a sin. Sure the match itself will do most of the work, it would have been cool to get some back and forth interaction between the pair earlier in the week. Kay Lee Ray has managed to prove herself as a worthy champion over on NXT UK the last few months so I can’t see this match being anything more than something to solidify her legacy as the NXT UK Women’s Champion. Prediction: Kay Lee Ray
Adam (TheInsanityInc): A match that should be a fun bout even if it’s just been shoehorned in and lacking any sort of build as the other NXT against NXT UK matches have. However with KLR being a champ, I’d give her the edge here unless WWE pulls a swerve to set Ray up with a sudden challenger. Prediction: Kay Lee Ray
NXT Women’s Championship Match: Rhea Ripley Vs Toni Storm
Elle: Unlike the previous match this match has had its fair share of storytelling over time and I can’t wait to revisit the in-ring magic between Toni and Rhea. I’m also intrigued to see how a face Rhea match will compare to her fiery history with Storm and whether or not that will be more of a hindrance than a help to her. Since making the jump to NXT Rhea has had one hell of a run and I really can’t see anything stopping that right now, even if it is against the woman who originally beat her. Prediction: Rhea Ripley
Adam: There’s no way that NXT after building Ripley so well with finally dethroning Baszler that they’d take the title off her so soon. With their battles in the past this should be a great bout, but an outcome never in doubt. Unless they start setting up a TakeOver match with another dose of Belair interference like this past NXT. Prediction: Rhea Ripley
