Earlier this week WWE and 2K revealed a brand new trailer for WWE 2K22 featuring the reveal of several female superstars so I thought it was about time we run down who’s been officially announced so far.
Over the last few months WWE and 2K have released a series of trailers, screenshots and press details which have all led to the official confirmation of several female superstars. In today’s article we’re sticking to purely those who have been officially named or showcased but be sure to keep an eye on your favourite superstars socials as Sheamus has already unveiled his model for this year’s game and you never know who might be next. So far a total of 16 female superstars have officially been revealed with some women appearing to have multiple attires or even multiple models. So let’s take a look at who’s been confirmed so far via screenshots or gameplay, and we’ll make a note of their attires and when they’re from.
Up first in order of release we have the former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley who was originally revealed in the WWE 2K22 SummerSlam trailer with Bayley clotheslining Carmella as part of the trailer. Bayley was once again shown in the November Hit List trailer with a look at what seems to be a brand new entrance animation for Bayley. With a good look at Bayley we can see her attire is from Extreme Rules 2020 which saw Bayley taking on Nikki Cross.
Up next we have the most beautiful woman in all of WWE Carmella who as mentioned previously was featured in the WWE 2K22 Summerslam trailer alongside Bayley. Unfortunately we don’t get a great look at Carmella’s model but we can make out that Carmella’s attire is from her return on the November 13th 2020 edition of SmackDown.
Following Carmella we have one half of the former Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley, who was first shown off in the SummerSlam trailer sporting a black and blue attire from her NXT run on June 24th 2020. Whilst the SummerSlam trailer only provided a quick glimpse of Rhea, Rhea was then showcased in multiple segments of the WWE 2K22 Announce trailer, sporting a different attire this time around from her SummerSlam 2020 match where she faced off against Charlotte Flair and Nikki Cross. There has been no official confirmation as to whether Rhea will have multiple models or attires or if Rhea has just received one hell of an upgrade since the original trailer.
With no other women featured in the reveal trailer, the next woman to be officially confirmed was none other than the current RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Becky was first revealed as part of the Hit List trailer during a portion dedicated to the huge reveal for MyGm. While no official render or model was showcased of Becky at the time we did receive a sneak peek look at Big Time becks earlier this week following the announce trailer. As part of the cover reveal coverage WWE and 2K shared a screenshot of Becky making her way to the ring in what looks to be her attire from Royal Rumble 2020 as part of her match against Asuka.
Speaking of Asuka, Asuka was also officially confirmed for WWE 2K22 alongside Becky Lynch as part of the MyGM reveal, with Asuka’s model like Becky’s remaining a mystery until only recently. Just like her RAW rival Asuka’s model would remain a secret until an official release from WWE and 2K as part of the pre-orders going live with a quick look of Asuka making her way to the ring wearing her Royal Rumble 2020 attire just like Lynch. The screenshot appears to hint at a new entrance animation for the former women’s tag team champion judging by the direction and stance of Asuka.
My GM would also confirm another former women’s tag team champion for WWE 2K22 in the form of Tamina. Unfortunately this time around we only have a render for Tamina but I for one am seriously hoping Tamina has the same attire as seen in the render as I absolutely adored her makeover from former tag partner Natalya as it totally reinvigorated not only Tamina’s look but her entire career.
As part of the reveal of Tamina in MyGM, Bianca Belair was also officially confirmed thanks to the player in MyGM selecting a matchup between Belair and Tamina. Unlike Tamina we did receive quite a few great looks at the former SmackDown women’s Champion with inring action an entrance and what looks to be a victory scene. The WWE 2K22 announce trailer showed Bianca’s model sporting her March 5th SmackDown attire from early last year which just happens to be one of my personal favorites.
Up next we have NXT’s Raquel Gonzalez who was officially confirmed in the WWE 2K22 Hit List trailer as part of the new gamemode MyRise. Gonzalez can be seen giving a beat down to some poor unfortunate caw with Raquel sporting an attire from NXT November 18th 2020 as part of her WWE 2K debut.
Unfortunately for the unlucky created superstar, Raquel Gonzalez wasn’t the only NXT superstar officially confirmed for WWE 2K22 as former NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray was also confirmed as part of the vicious beatdown. Kay Lee Ray can be seen wearing her black, red and white attire from NXT Worlds’s Collide 2020.
The reveal of MyRise would also confirm the Queen of Spades Shayna Baszler for WWE 2K22 with Shayna sporting her black and gold attire from 2020’s women’s Royal Rumble match. Like Rhea Ripley before her it also seems that Shayna Baszler may have multiple attires or models as Shayna was then showcased in a series of screenshots as part of the pre-order reveals. The screenshots not only gave a better look at the Royal Rumble attire for Shayna which looks incredible but also a look at Shayna sporting her WrestleMania 36 attire from her match with Becky Lynch.
The next female superstar to be officially confirmed for WWE 2K22 is none other than the current 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke. Brooke was officially revealed as part of the announce trailer earlier this week in a segment with Rhea Ripley pummeling Dana with a variation of Rhea’s riptide. While we don’t get a full on look of Dana’s model we can see that Dana is sporting her Royal Rumble attire from 2020, coloured extensions and all.
Following Dana Brooke we have the official confirmation of Naomi for WWE 2K22 as Naomi slides her way into a brand new WWE 2K game. Naomi can be seen wearing her pink glow attire from the February 14th Valentine’s Day edition of Friday Night SmackDown although in WWE 2K22 Naomi looks to be sporting a different hairstyle. While it looks like Naomi may have the same entrance animation, Naomi’s lighting has been vastly improved and we now get a perfect look at one of WWE’s most beloved.
Next up we have Naomi’s current onscreen rival Sonya Deville who was confirmed with a brand new look at MyGM. In both WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20 Sonya acted purely as a playable female superstar with Sonya this time around having at least a role as an option general manager as part of the new MyGM experience. Like superstars such as Stephanie McMahon who also have a managerial and business role within WWE, Sonya is likely to have an alternate wrestling model that will allow fans to play as Deville.
Speaking of Stephanie McMahon the billion dollar princess was also officially confirmed for WWE 2K22 alongside Sonya Deville with Stephanie also being among the four available general managers. Stephanie in recent years has had a mix of both playable and NPC versions of her character and I imagine that WWE 2K22 will be no different. Like Sonya we have no official look at Stephanie’s in game model but I for one can’t wait to see how she looks.
Following Stephanie we have the Ballsy Badass Shotzi Blackheart who makes her WWE 2K debut as part of WWE 2K22 in the most epic way possible. Shotzi was officially confirmed thanks to a brief look at her entrance in this year’s game, which features her infamous tank as she makes her way to the ring. If you take a closer look at Shotzi you can see she’s wearing her NXT November 4th attire from 2020.
Last and by certainly no means least, the last female superstar to be officially confirmed so far is none other than the boss, the blueprint, Sasha Banks. Sasha was officially confirmed thanks to a quick look at her seemingly new entrance as well as some seriously sick screenshots in what looks to be Sasha’s greatest looking model ever. From the screenshots you can see Sasha is sporting her Backlash 2020 attire from her triple threat tag team match alongside former BFF Bayley. When I initially saw Sasha in the press release shot my mind was completely blown and I don’t think I’ve still got over just how great she looks.
So that’s the complete list of female superstars officially confirmed for WWE 2K22 so far, which to recap, includes Bayley, Carmella, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Tamina, Bianca Belair, Kay Lee Ray, Shayna Baszler, Dana Brooke, Naomi, Sonya Deville, Stephanie McMahon, Shotzi Blackheart and Sasha Banks.
I have to admit that’s a seriously bad ass list of female superstars and I can’t wait to get a full hands on look at each and every woman up close. From Carmella and Raquel Gonzalez to Kay Lee Ray and Shayna Baszler, each woman has a completely unique fighting style and look and I can’t wait to explore every rest hold, strike and finisher.
That wraps up today’s video but be sure to let me know in the comments below which is your favourite among the female superstars already revealed and who you hope is revealed next. The road to WWE 2K22 is underway and i can’t wait to explore it with each and every one of you.
