The hottest party of the Summer is just a few short hours away in what could be the eve of a new era in WWE with Vince McMahon parting ways with the company just a few short weeks ago.
With the world paying close attention to what could be the start of something new the men and Women of WWE prepare to put their reputation, their bodies and championship gold on the line in the only way WWE know how.
WWE Women’s Champions Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair look to enter a new era with their respective titles still around their waists as they defend their gold against their respective rivals Ronda Rousey and ‘Big Time’ Becky Lynch. Will a rewrite in the books see new Champions crowned or will Belair and Morgan lead a new generation at the top of their game? It’s time for our SummerSlam 2022 PPV Predictions:
Smackdown Women’s Championship: Liv Morgan Vs Ronda Rousey
Elle: You have to ask yourself how could Liv Morgan defeat the infamous Ronda Rousey, on one of WWE’s biggest PPV’s of the year win with a clean victory? This time around Liv won’t have the upper hand with an ‘injured’ Rousey entering the fray so how will the fan favourite pull off what could be considered the ultimate victory? My guess is that we could see the likes of Charlotte or Natalya interfere to lead to a Survivor Series rematch between either woman and Rousey as not to make Rousey look weak and not take away Liv’s Money in the Bank moment so soon after finally achieving her dream. Who knows maybe the new era will allow Liv to actually do the unthinkable and overcome the huge odds all on her own! Prediction: Liv Morgan (By any means Necessary)
Adam (TheInsanityInc): This is a tough one. You have Morgan finally become a singles champion, against the WWE’s golden egg, big ticket name in Ronda Rousey. Common sense would say that Rousey wins, but didn’t we all think that back at WrestleMania? Rousey losing would still be a major upset but it wouldn’t be as impossibly as many might think. It’s a toss-up but with this being a new era, I’m gonna pitch my hopes on the WWE giving Morgan a fair shot with the title. Prediction: Liv Morgan
Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair Vs Becky Lynch
Elle: I hope to god whatever happens that this match is by no means a squash match and if it is, get HHH or Stephanie out there to restart the match because we don’t need that sort of nonsense in the new era! Whatever the outcome you have to image this will be the final chapter in the Becky Lynch/ Bianca Belair saga as the feud comes full circle at the event that started it all. Part of me feels like Becky doesn’t need the title but when she has been consistently great for so long without it, what does she do if she climbs all the way to the top only to lose yet again? I almost wish that the final chapter would have seen Liv cash in on the pair thus neither woman getting one over the other. The outcome could go either way but I imagine we’ll see Bianca get a huge victory over Becks thus adding another historic moment to her career. Prediction: Bianca Belair
Adam: My first prediction is that this match most certainly won’t be under half a minute in length. As far as the match itself goes, the long feud between Lynch and Belair surely has to end here and I think it will wrap up a year-long story in Belair’s favour. They’ve done great stuff but it’s time for both women to move on, and see who steps up next to try for a shot at the red brand strap. Prediction: Bianca Belair
