Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLEUTION! The Crown Jewel event is fast approaching and alongside the clash of champions between the singles titles holders, we now have a Women’s Tag Team Championship Match on the show. A Fatal Four-Way Match that pits current champs Belair and Cargill against Green and Niven, Damage CTRL, and Meta-Four. With the stakes high and the odds against the Champions, who will get the last advantage ahead of the event this Saturday? Let’s get into it, and find out…
LIV MORGAN and RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ got an ‘arriving earlier today’ video along with the rest of The Judgement Day. Later on, Morgan would be left very concerned when she and The Judgement Day found out that Dominik Mysterio’s opponent would be former member Damien Priest.
RHEA RIPLEY got another hype video talking about Morgan and Rodriguez. Claming that everything she’s done to them was deserved (and ignored her previous heel ways).
Singles Match
IVY NILE w/h American Made defeated ZELINA VEGA w/h LWO
Vega hit Nile with La Chancla but the referee didn’t call for a foreign object DQ. Nile lifted Vega up for a charge to the corner, then whipped her across to the opposite corner to hit a Jumping Kick. Moments later, Vega used the ropes for a Springboard Kneedrop of sorts to counter a Shoulder Thrust through the cables by Nile. That set up a Meteora off the apron by Nile before the show went to a commercial break.
Vega hit a Running Knee to Nile’s back in a corner, but spent too long posing for the fans as Nile soon hauled her down from the turnbuckle. Vega countered a Suplex attempt into Stundog Millionaire. Vega barely hit a Moonsault, and it landed down more over Nile’s face, for a near fall. Nile recovered and counted a Tilt-a-whirl to hit a Bridging German Suplex that was far from flush for a two count. The women lost the crowd and matters weren’t helped when Vega hit a Chop Block after she escaped off Nile’s shoulders, and the follow up Knee Strike after a run looked less than impactful.
Vega tried to hit a Code Red but as Brutus Creed distracted the ref, Julius held Nile’s hands to block the move and pule Nile to the apron. The men brawled at ringside and the Creeds got the upper hand. In the ring, Nile hit an impressive Swinging Uranagi off a Bodyslam grip to get the victory.
MAXXINE DUPRI was seen with Alpha Academy in a segment with R-Truth and The Miz. Later, SCARLETT and The Final Testament laid down the law to The Miz about the issues involving The Wyatt Sicks.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez accompanied Dominik Mysterio as he faced Damien Priest. Thanks to chaos and distractions from The Judgement Day, Mysterio stole the win with a tights-grab roll-up. However, Morgan would look on with horror as Mysterio took a beatdown post-match for his troubles.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
This week more than any other has exposed the issue with a roster so big on Raw, along with the tag division on both shows, but only having 2 hours on Raw. Another week, another promo video package to keep the Morgan-Ripley feud going at a sluggish pace. The Crown Jewel ‘break’ has done the storyline no favours and without any real mention about the Morgan versus Jax match at the show, it all feels like a major waste of time. Especially when we had no real mention of the Women’s Tag Title match on the show. As for Nile versus Vega, the less than perfect spots done by Vega took the crowd out of the match. Nile gets a win, the first that I can recall her having not just in a long time but perhaps ever on Raw. It seems to just be part of a new feud between LWO and American Made so we’ll see what happens next between the groups.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days’ time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
