Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLUTION! Survivor Series is just days away with champion against champion matches and the Traditional Elimination Matches. However, there are already future challengers lined up for the title holders on Raw. Liv Morgan finally secured a long-awaited shot at a title after she emerged the winner of a Fatal Five Way Match over her fellow members of Team Raw. While Carmella and Queen Zelina have their own sights set on the Women’s Tag Team Championships with a specific target on ‘weak link’ Nikki A.S.H. So who will stake a claim ahead of the Survivor Series pay per view? Let’s get into it, and find out…
Women’s Singles Match
BIANCA BELAIR defeated TAMINA
MCKENZIE MITCHELL interviewed Belair before the match as she seemed to dismiss Doudrop as a threat and similarly wasn’t fazed when confronted by Tamina. Tamina jumped Belair early but Belair came back with stomps, then soon after her backflip after taunting spot before getting in some 10-Count Punches but only got to eight. Tamina shoving her off and soon after levelled Belair with a Clothesline.
DOUDROP was shown watching from backstage. After a rest hold Chinlock and roughing up, Tamina hit a Corner Clothesline then a Short-Arm one before a Running Elbow Drop got a two count. Belair flipped out from a Back Suplex attempt and soon after caught Tamina with a Single Leg Dropkick. A Spinebuster and a stacked pin got a near fall for Belair. Tamina came back with a slap then a Superkick, but Belair caught her going up top to toss her down to the mat. Belair tried for the Handspring Moonsault but Tamina brought the knees up. Belair blocked another Superkick before Tamina prevented the Glam Slam. Belair then slipped out from a Samoan Drop attempt before hitting the KOD for the win.
After the match Doudrop came out and taunted Belair, saying she was coming for her after Survivor Series.
SARAH SCHREIBER handled interview duties.
There was a lengthy promo segment with BECKY LYNCH and LIV MORGAN. Lynch first of all addressing and mocking Survivor Series opponent Charlotte Flair before Morgan came out. Lynch even played some old Talking Macvk footage with Morgan talking about advice from Lynch. After the expected back and forth, Morgan ended up standing tall, countering a Man-Handle Slam before she held up the Raw Women’s title.
Women’s Singles Match
QUEEN ZELINA w/h CARMELLA defeated Women’s Tag Team Champion NIKKI A.S.H. w/h RHEA RIPLEY
Ash got a Crossbody early for a two count, and not long after did a vault-through Cradle for a near fall. Zelina escaped a Samoan Drop attempt, shoving Ash to the corner before hitting a rough-looking Spingboard Kick. A Running Knee got just a one count. After a rest hold Ash came back with a couple of Low Dropkicks then a corner Splash before the 10 Count punches. Ash hit a Driver for a near fall. Ash went up top, but took her focus off of her opponent to watch for Carmella (who admittedly didn’t even make a move to get her) and that allowed Zelina to knock Ash down. The Code Red then followed to give Zelina a clean win.
Women’s Singles Match
Women’s Tag Team Champion RHEA RIPLEY w/h NIKKI A.S.H. defeated CARMELLA w/h QUEEN ZELINA
The match was joined in progress (always a good sign!) as Ripley dropped Carmella with a Delayed Suplex. Soon after, Carmella caught Ripley through the ropes, using a Superkick to the side of the head to bounce Ripley into the ringpost for a near fall. Carmella hit Double Chops to the front and back before taunting her opponent but only got a near fall. Ripley got fired up from another back Chop, dropping Carmella with one of her own before levelling Carmella with Short-Arm Clotheslines. The Snapmare set up the Ripley Dropkick before the Alicia Fox Suplex got a near fall.
Carmella dodged another Dropkick, and hit a couple of Superkicks to her downed opponent but only got a near fall. Ripley came back with a Headbutt then hit The Riptide for the win. Queen Zelina grabbed a mic and used her questionable accent to mock the title rivals and rubbed it that Ash wasn’t on Ripley’s level.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
A fine show that didn’t saturate things too much with Survivor Series nonsense and planted a good amount of hype for future feuds. The WWE seems to continue to sour on Nikki A.S.H. having her being the weak link much like she was during her team with Alexa Bliss. Is this a redemption story or more protecting Ripley? And using old footage of an emotional Morgan was a nice touch to further cement Lynch’s egotistical position that she gave mocking advice.
That’s your lot for this week. Stop by in seven days time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! See you then!
