Welcome one and all to the RAW RECAP presented by THE REVELLUTION! Last week saw Becky Lynch take the cheap way out, cheating to retain her Raw Women’s Championship over Liv Morgan with a hand on the ropes as she rolled Morgan up. Will Morgan get back into the title hunt as the Day One event approaches? And what next for Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. as they continue to take losses to Carmella and Queen Zelina? Let’s get into it, and find out…

Women’s Singles Match
BIANCA BELAIR defeated DOUDROP
Belair cut a bland cut-in promo before the match, ignoring the fact Doudrop has been beating her up the past few weeks. Doudrop had a more effective one, but not by too much. After trading lock-ups for tests of strengths, Belair did lots of rope running and dodging with taunts, including almost tripping over Doudrop doing a leapfrog. Eventually, Belair hit a Single Leg Dropkick but trying for a Bodyslam took one instead for a two count. Doudrop hit a Corner Splash then clubbing blows, before Belair countered from a corner with a horrible looking, slow motion Headscissors that nearly dropped herself on her head and send Doudrop into the ropes before she bailed out.
After trading shots over the ropes Doudrop (in a nice storytelling moment) caught Belair’s legs when she tried to the Handspring spot from last week, wrenching Belair’s legs on the top rope but kicking Belair appeared to hit her around the eye. Doudrop impressively used the ropes as she entered back in to springboard and hit an Elbow Drop as Belair rolled out still clutching her eye. Back from commercial the women traded counters before a version of the Viper Driver got a near fall. Doudrop spent a while taunting and almost paid for it, but hit a Back Suplex that Belair had to kick out of the pin from afterwards when the ref didn’t see a foot under the ropes. Doudrop went for the Vader Bomb but Belair countered, hitting a Powerbomb out of the corner and hitting a 450 Splash for the win.
After the match, Belair celebrated on the stage and got decked from behind by Doudrop.
BECKY LYNCH went to the ring for a promo, bragging about her win last week and mocking the fans for supporting Morgan. Ripping on the fans for not supporting her to try and get them booing her but it didn’t quite work. Lynch even showed a shot of the ‘Angry Liv Fan’ from last week. LIV MORGAN eventually came out as she showed the image of Lynch having to hold the ropes to win. Morgan cut a rather samey promo that we’ve heard before about being human and emotional. Morgan demanded a rematch at Day One, but Lynch claimed that it was Morgan’s own fault for not grabbing the ropes herself before Lynch did it.
Eventually, Morgan charged the ring for a brawl but on the outside Lynch shoved Morgan into the ring steps, then trapping Morgan’s arm into the ring steps to stop away, kick and Dropkick the steps to target the arm. With Morgan screaming in pain Lynch then announced she accepted the challenge with Morgan in pain, leaving the arena as Morgan finally was freed and clutching the injured arm.
SARAH SCHREIBER handled interview duties.
DANA BROOKE‘s adventures with the 24/7 Championship saw an apparent date with Reggie interrupted with TAMINA attempting but failing to capture the title.
Women’s Singles Match
Women’s Tag team Champion QUEEN ZELINA w/h CARMELLA defeated RHEA RIPLEY w/h NIKKI A.S.H.
Before the match Ripley gave Ash a pep-talk backstage. Queen Zelina had remixed music as Carmella gave an introduction before Zelina’s questionable accent demanded applause but broke out of her accent to rant at the fans. Zerlina mocked Ripley for still carrying ‘dead weight’ in Ash. Ripley Dropkicked Zelina hard then Press Slammed her down when Carmella yelled for Ripley to put her down. Things broke down in a hurry when Ash chased Carmella into the ring, only to get Superkicked for her trouble. When Ripley got distracted getting Ash out of the ring, Zelina pounced with a Running Knee to the back then a Crucifix Pin to steal the win. The match didn’t even last a full minute.
MARYSE introduced herself as the host of Miz TV and brought out her husband The Miz for the segment. However, it seemed that Maryse didn’t appreciate when her man used her as a human shield to avoid a spear, slapping her husband in the face and storming off. Perhaps setting up a false division between the two to help set up Maryse helping Miz to win over Edge?
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Belair’s booking has been odd as of late, with any win quickly countered by losses or a beatdown. This match didn’t help with the clear win cancelled by being rather easily beaten down. If anything this feud is putting Doudrop more over than her and that’s not a good sign. An injury storyline certainly protects Morgan and puts over Lynch as a cowardly heel, but does Lynch really need it when it would be a huge upset if Morgan won? And Divas-era match length aside, it seems more and more obvious that the break-up of Ripley and A.S.H. is coming and probably won’t be pretty.
That’s your lot for this week! Be sure to stop by in seven days time for the next edition of the RAW RECAP! see you then!
