The Royal Rumble is arguably WWE’s craziest premium live event, packed to the brim with fun, fear, thrill and laughter with the Superstars of WWE eager to grasp the opportunity of a lifetime in the historic match type.
Before Bianca Belair can even look to the future and a possible title defence at WrestleMania, first she will have to put an end to her former friend turned rival Alexa Bliss. Over the last few weeks Bliss has spiralled back into old habits with the mysterious Uncle Howdy seemingly pulling strings behind the scenes. Will Bianca manage to put an end to the shenanigans or will Bliss continue to get the last laugh?
Later this evening women of the past, present and future generations of WWE will attempt to be the last woman standing before going on to compete on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. With the ultimate opportunity looming who will walk out of the Royal Rumble with the iconic moment of pointing and the WrestleMania sign and cashing in on a WrestleMania moment? It’s time to weigh in with our Royal Rumble 2023 PPV Predictions:
Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair Vs Alexa Bliss
Elle: I have to say I’ve really enjoyed this new dimension to Bianca Belair’s run as RAW Women’s Champion. In the past Bianca has managed to rely on her athleticism and strength to come out on top over previous opponents but when it comes to Bliss, Bianca seems somewhat unnerved and unsure. I’ve loved the different dynamic of seeing Belair having to compete not only with Bliss but her alter egos and uncle howdy putting the super athlete at a strong disadvantage for arguably the first time ever. What I will say is that I feel like Alexa’s new persona needs a little more time to stew before being rewarded with a title and I can’t quite see WWE taking the title from Belair so close to Mania. Regardless of a loss if anything I see this being a victory in the long run for Bliss with the first step in her new journey as…well whatever her new persona is set to be. Prediction: Bianca Belair
Adam: Well with everything going on with the Uncle Howdy/Bray Wyatt stuff involving Alexa Bliss, I doubt they’d make a title change here to distract Bliss from what’s clearly a building story heading towards WrestleMania. And considering how much the WWE is pushing Bianca Belair as the lead star on Raw with such a long title run. I think Belair will be holding onto that gold until WrestleMania at the very least. Prediction: Bianca Belair
Women’s 2023 Royal Rumble Match
Elle: Ahh this one has me in a pickle. If you were to ask me for a quick fire answer I would instantly say Rhea Ripley, especially after the last few months and the constant upward tradjectory of her career. For months Rhea has been killing it with the Judgement Day but I honestly feel it’s time for her to step back into the Women’s division and finally give the stable some gold. Aside from Rhea and possibly rewarding Becky with a second win to make history, I honestly can’t picture anyone else winning the rumble. Bayley and Liv Morgan have had somewhat of a high profiled couple of months regardless of wins and losses but for some reason I can’t quite see either of them walking out as the 2023 Rumble winner. With no other name in sight I can’t not go with Ripley. Prediction: Rhea Ripley
Adam: This the WWE, and the past weeks have shown that the WWE isn’t ready to let others get the spotlight when they aren’t a Horsewoman or aren’t Bianca Belair. So despite all the potential on the roster if other women got a fair chance to shine, I think the WWE will revert to type and once again have Becky Lynch win the Royal Rumble. Whether that leads to another rematch with either Belair or old rival Flair remains to be seen. Prediction: Becky Lynch.
