This passed weekend Roxanne Perez made history becoming the first female superstar to win the coveted Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline earning a shot at Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship.
With the opportunity of a lifetime for Perez, the iron survivor didn’t waste anytime cashing in that opportunity opting to face Mandy Rose for the title on last night’s NXT. Unfortunately for Rose her luck was finally over, ending her 413 day reign as NXT Women’s Champion. Roxanne has truly hit the ground running in NXT since her debut and we only hope that like Mandy she has a long and fruitful reign as NXT Women’s Champion.
Mandy has truly evolved as a character down in NXT with a brand new attitude, confidence and swagger that was sorely missed during her run on main roster. Mandy now not only talks the talk but walks the walk too and it’s hard to compare her to her former NXT Incarnation.
For me personally Mandy is the poster child for those wanting to revitalise their career and rebuild from the ground up and I can only hope that others follow in her footsteps down the line.
